I would have dodged that bullshite war too. Plenty of people did, including plenty of white folk and plenty of people of privilege were fortunate enough not to be called on.

racist, loudmouth, unappreciative of his freedom
Yeah, there is a whole lot of freedom when people who are terrorized from voting by a terrorist group and that group faces no repercussions.

some of you are racist towards the man I understand that,
so even though i am a huge Frazier fan, it makes me racist if i don't like ALi? i get it......when you have no real argument you just yell "racist" b/c it's easier?
is it possible to not like Ali, and not be racist? Or is that simply an impossible task?

Then what is?
WEll, if you don't force it, nothing will really change for minority coaches. College football has a history of not hiring non-white people. Obviously, if it needs to be forced, then there is a problem.
I am not saying there is no racism in the NCAA. It is everywhere. To try and resolve this in the area of hiring coaches, I would start with a pool of applicants. Coaches looking for advancement or change would submit their resumes to the pool, managed by a staff that is not affiliated with the NCAA. Require those Universities that are looking to hire to select applicants by their assigned number, based on how their resume matches the hiring entity's needs. Then they must interview those candidates, not knowing race, gender, creed, or any of the areas listed under Title VII. Many employment agencies function this way and it works to the point of fairness in getting the interview. There are ways other than , "You must interview this minority coach, and that one." Where would you draw the line to be fair to ALL minorities?

Most people who are miseducated only know MLK by his "I Have A Dream" speech and only know the parts where he talks about judging people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
For starters, here is just another part of the rest of that speech
Thanks for that info.
You're right, I don't know enough about MLK to take any stand on the subject.

I don't even think you need that. All you gotta do is search programs, mainly candidates in the coordinator positions and bring 'em on in for an interview. It's not that hard.
I don't think black coaches aren't getting interviews because they've failed to submit resumes to athletic departments or because nobody knew they coach football.

quote:Black Muslims are just as hateful as any Klansman.
I don't see the NOI as a group that terrorizes folk.
They are not the terror force because they are such a minority atm. Were they to gain wider support and acceptance here in the US (which we seem to be moving towards), you would see alot of violent acts from the inherently violent Black Muslims.
Just like with the KKK, all it takes is one automaton who is willing to bring the rhetoric to fruition. Remove accountability and insert excuses to such a situation, and you have a murderous terrorist.
I think the rhetoric that Farrakhan vomits daily is far more extreme than the words of Osama Bin Laden.

your a peice of shite too then.
when your country asks for your help, you give it.
i hate people that enjoy the freedoms of america and are so quick to make sure they let people know they have those freedoms by demonstrations and other stupid shite like that, but aren't man enough to fight for those freedoms.

Have to admit, I think much less of him now after watching that.

to be fair, let's also post the sons of people of influence who essentially dodged the draft by getting cushy positions
our current president and al gore are 2 very notable examples

If he would have been born white or any other color, he still might have become a boxer, but his life and possibly the way he carried himself in and out the ring might have been different.
If you take Ali and color him white right now...then yea he's still the same person.

At least they were IN the military. I am no Gore fan, but he did go to Vietnam (albeit in a non-combat role).
You can't compare them to a POS like Clinton who said he "loathes America" and demonstrated against his country on foreign soil.

LSU=Hornets needs to live the life of a black man for a year in 1960's Louisiana and check bath with us.
Would his opinion of Ali change?

My grandfather was a professional boxer who use to spar with Joe Lewis. His career was cut short due to being wounded in WWII. He couldn't stand the fact that Ali was praised for not fighting for his country.
