Going for the first time in a long time tomorrow night. Checked their menu and it seems they no longer serve the veal chop which is all I’ve had there.

Any recommendations? Veal chop was the best I’ve ever had so kind of bummed.

Still some solid veal choices, no? The smoked duck and lamb chops Webster are on my regular rotation.

The meatballs and turtle soup are solid appetizer choices.

Not in season though that is one of my favorites.

I usually get the sweetbreads for app

All of the entrees look good. Im a sucker for duck on a restaurant menu. Pompano is always good. I’d be interested in hearing the seafood special

Friend,

Second best soft shell crab dish in the Metro. And for the best, Impastato’s has soft shells right now.

Yours,

Possibly the best sweetbreads I’ve ever had, neck and neck with Susan Spicer’s. The fish dishes have been good, but hard to beat a softshell crab done right. Several veal dishes sound great too.

Please report back, need to make another visit soon.

I would say even if you ordered the worst thing on the menu, you will likely come out very happy. You can’t go wrong.

The smoked soft shelled crab might be the best dish I have ever eaten.

I’ll throw a curveball

Deviled eggs if you don’t go the sweetbread route then the veal and crabmeat.

Smoked duck would be second choice - the chicken would be 3rd choice and is good.

I've not eaten there and am in awe of the menu pricing. So, for 2 adults to get an item from each course, a couple cocktails or glasses of wine each, maybe split a desert and you're looking at around $200+ tip.

It's been a while since I've been out to a nice restaurant, and with pricing like that, it will be even longer.

That's a lot of groceries for the house. Guess I'm one of the TD poors...

For the first 2 sentences I thought you were going to say it was a good deal. Cheaper then you expected.

You don't need the alcohol. An app and entre for each will be satisfying and considerably cheaper.

This is fairly standard pricing for relatively upscale dining. You would kill yourself at actually expensive places.

Indeed.

Plus, the bartender there will typically tighten you up enough that it will feel like a pretty decent value on that end.

Actually, I do, just mit in a place that's going to charge $16 for an Old Fashioned, etc. I'll pay a high price for something I can't make like certain dishes, but a drink? That's when growing up lower middle class kicks in and won't let me.

I'm assuming it's been quite some time since you've eaten at any sort of upscale restaurant, their pricing seems pretty standard. Definitely "reasonable" compared to other upscale establishments.
