It was but the reasoning by Bama fans initially was completely false. Immediately after the call was made "blatant cheating" because "the ref watched the play and didn't throw the flag until he saw it was a td". Duh geniuses. It wasn't illegal touching until he touched the ball. Glad we aren't the only fanbase who fails in the logic department.

Exactly. The Peterson call very likely was THE deciding factor in that game. And, the Gumps won the title that year.

That was the most blanant sh*t call be ole bug eyes ever. His toe even made a divot in the grass that PP, Miles, and the announcers point out.

It was a bad call…..but so was that second TD they “scored” on us that clearly showed the elbow down bf the ball crossed the goal line. And that was with replay!
