Just saw a list of top 10 po-boy shops around Nola and Killer Po-Boys made the list. I've eaten at every other place on here but never heard of Killer's. Maybe I'm living under a rock.

Back in the 80s and early 90s, R&O's used to have the most incredible softshell crab po-boy on the planet. The thing would hang off of both sides about 3 inches or so. It was hands down the best po-boy in the city. Unfortunately, by the late 90s it had gone WAY down in both quantity and quality. And, when it did, they jacked up the price.

R&O’s still has my favorite roast beef in the region.

Italian salad
Onion rings
Soft shell crab/roast beef poboy

Nail crackers with pats of butter until something came to the table. Play Video games in the waiting area if you could huff all the secondhand smoke.

R&O's was the best Friday night spot in the 90's.

Tried R&O's a few times. You must not have been to Parkway. Not even close IMO.

You would be in the very small minority who think Parkway RB poboy is better than R&O’s.
Parkway needs to learn what seasoning is in regards to the RB.

Man this is the TRUTH. I hadn't had one in a while, but went a few weeks ago and got that. It really tasted like nothing. I was so damn disappointed.

It was also all just so needlessly sloppy. I get that's often sort of the point of a RB poboy, but this was such at a disaster level as far as trying to eat it that made it just not good at all.

It's a shame because their fried seafood is still decidedly on point.

Parkway kind of lives off of its reputation. Back in the 70s and 80s it was awesome. Now, not so much. It seems to have become a French Quarteresque tourist destination.

I never see Central Poboys near the Huey P bridge on these lists.
I've always liked their poboys.

Radosta's would have to be somewhere in my top 10.

It isn't a super high profile place - the original is in the back of Erin Rose.

Some have inchoate sensibilities when it comes to what constitutes elite food.

Ergo, I won’t debate you.

You do you.

Also: Radosta’s is massively underrated. Eggplant/chicken/veal parm options with that red gravy…oh man.
