And people say Hegseth isn't qualified?

quote:

The Pentagon failed its seventh consecutive audit on Friday as the agency was unable to fully account for its massive $824 billion budget, though officials were confident the Department of Defense "has turned a corner" in understanding its budgetary challenges going forward.

The audits resulted in a disclaimer of opinion, which means auditors were provided with insufficient information to form an accurate opinion of the accounts.

Of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) 28 reporting entities that had standalone audits, 9 received an unmodified audit opinion, 1 received a qualified opinion, 15 received disclaimers, and 3 opinions remain pending, the Pentagon said.

But with the goal of achieving a clean audit by 2028, Michael McCord, Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) and Chief Financial Officer, said the agency "has turned a corner in its understanding of the depth and breadth of its challenges."

He’s not. Doesn’t make the audit situation any less crazy.

That's not a fact, just a supposition on your part.

Incorrect. The secretary of defense is selected by the POTUS who is the commander and chief of the US armed forces. If the president nominates you then you are qualified.

Try again

They should have just said “it must have gone to Ukraine” and half the country would have been ok with that answer.

Provides no reason why he’s not qualified. Provides no alternatives.

Just because you don’t like something it doesn’t make it wrong.

You post like a child.

What was Pete Hegseth’s highest military rank? Find me the last head of DoD with a similar resume.

Clearly that requirement isn’t working out. Unless you like endless wars and conflict.

Buckle up buttercup. Change is coming.

Which foreign adversary has a stronger military than the US?

Which conflict are we currently engaged in (boots on the ground)?

The other guy who said that Trump appointed Hegseth so he’s qualified is more intellectually honest.

they "lost" almost a trillion dollars. Id say anyone NOT currently employed there is more qualified than anyone who is. My wife would find that shite in about 20 mins and then head to Costco.

When's the last time we won a war?

That's not how we fight these days. The better question is how many current conflicts are seeing American ordnance go boom?

I think Trump could have picked someone better than Hegseth but the argument that clowns like Austin, Esper and Hagel are truly special and hard to find is silly.

Modern weaponry has all but eliminated that for the U.S. We are not going to see another Viet Nam type war scenario. My question to you is - when is the last time the U.S. fought a war to win. If you say WW2 then you are correct.

I would agree with you. We dominated the first Gulf War but I get all the caveats there.

The last audit, when the budget was 100 billion less, they said then there was probably 100 billion in waste.

So there is probably 200 billion rotting, not low hanging, but rotting on the ground fruit for DOGE to collect.

It does beg the question, why do we spend untold billions on aircraft carriers when the control of space will decide the next large conflict?

Why do we spend 445 billion on f35s built in a dozen countries, 15 states and then cant figure out why the shat does not work when we put it together. Meanwhile Iran is putting out drones by the bushel load at three fity apiece?

McCain is gone (though he body may still be touring), enough with the pet projects so Saudi can backdoor payments to his "foundation" in Arizona and he uses the money to fetch russian dossiers.
