Pitchfork.
It is a site that enjoys the smell of its own farts, but I also like these from the list: Waxahatchee, Big Thief, Billy Woods, Lana Del Rey, Floating Points/Pharrel Sanders, Jazmine Sullivan in the top 25.

I’m guess I’m just getting older, but my tastes and Pitchfork have never been further apart. Some good albums on there, but a ton of stuff I’ve never heard of. While their 90s and their 00s lists are mostly just album I love after album I love.

I've heard of 21 of those 100 artists.
Of those 21 I've actually heard the music of 6 of them.
I'm officially old. That's cool with me.

It's not just you. I don't think a single writer at Pitchfork has a shred of musical training.

The site used to be a good alternative to Rolling Stone back then. I still read but with the knowledge a lot of their taste is very different from mine. I also like Spin's Five Albums I Can't Live Without section. I don't read Rolling Stone at all anymore though. They totally suck.

It is what it is.
Waxahatchee's new album is even better than St. Cloud or at least on the same level. Guess they won't allow 2 albums on the same list.
Beyonce top 10. whatevs.
No Japanese Breakfast - Jubliee=frick these hipsters.

I've heard of 10 of these bands.
The only one I have is Fever Ray.
I have an Alvvays album but not that one.
I listen to a lot of new music-but not the Pitchfork brands..

Same. My taste in music got stuck in mid nineties to early 2000’s and never really moved past that

Similar. I've HEARD of most of the artists/albums, but they're not in my rotation or even ones that had enough appeal to me that I gave them a spin. I prefer Stereogum's staff's taste to P4's.
In other news: Waxahatchee's new single is awesome.

Fiona Apple's album gets #1?
That album was fricking awful, and I'm a fan of Fiona.

Yeah, that was the icing on the top of that what the frick cake. I love every other Fiona Apple album and they are in regular rotation, but I may have listened to Fetch the Boltcutters twice in total.

I heard a music podcast a while back and one of the artists referenced Pitchfork and said everyone in the business knows they are out for clicks and nobody takes them seriously.

Same here. Not even close these days.
