Can anyone weigh in on why Nuss was vehemently upset with the officials on the fumbled snap recovered by SC? I want to think it's disconcerting signals but I'm not seeing any blogs or posting to that end. I'm getting tired of all the "bad officiating" articles and pundit opinions on how one sided the game was officiated toward SC. I thought it was equally poor on both sides!

According to different people, the DLine for SC said something or yelled something to mimick the snap and caused Chester to snap it early.

Devil's Advocate: It was really loud in the stadium at that particular juncture in the game and on the replay, no one on the SC DL or LBers moved. So I kind of have a hard time believing that an SC DL yelled above the crowd noise without moving.

I think this is one of those situations where it was so loud that no one could hear and then Chester probably said he heard someone say "Ready" or whatever and then everyone kind of remembers hearing something too. Our memories are tricky like that. We can convince ourselves with certainty that we experienced something if it was suggested to us and fits our world view.

counter: DL are about
closer to the center than anyone.

Chester could hear them.

He said they were simulating the snap on defense.

are you serious?

The DL is inches to a couple feet away from Chester. If he heard Ready, and it was not Nuss, then it was the DL. Nuss got defensive about it on the field, because it had just happened.

I thought they clapped causing the early snap. That’s why Nuss and BK we’re both really upset.

It was the middle linebacker. If you watch the replay, the snap occurred as soon as he started yelling and waving his arms. All of that may have been to get the defense aligned, but it definitely simulated our snap count.

Chester, seems like he may be coming along and playing better, sans that snap in a very loud hostile environment, and we need him to be good.

Disconcerting signals, whatever that
means.

It seems every game LSU gets called for instigating snap count. It also seems every game our opponent does the same and gets away with it.

Think about what you just said. If the center could not hear a DL 3 feet in front of how could he be expected to hear the quarterback 19 fett behind him

Whatever it is, it’s pretty disconcerting.

A DL ventriloquist would be a nice skill set….

There was a lot of shite the refs got wrong for both teams. Usually this causes chaotic moments throughout the game. Glad LSU won.
