Can they do it? Whose left? They already emptied the prisons.

Putin will eventually lose support.

How is this possible
How is this possible

When has Russia ever run out of bodies to send into the meat grinder?

Just sayin'
Manpower has never really been their issue, imperial or soviet era.
Now having said that, IF Putin doesn't have full control he will not, eventually, have that near-unlimited access to manpower that the Tsars and Politburo had. This might be that line; be interesting to watch.

Wrong. Their motherland is being threatened. It’s the equivalent of Russia arming the Mexican cartels to shoot their long range missiles, guided by Russian satellites, to hit Austin, Dallas, and Houston.
This isn’t a geopolitical conflict to Russia. It’s an existential threat.
This administration needs to wake up so we can continue to enjoy this planet and not all get vaporized over Ukraine

Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. Hitler and Napolean timed it wrong and biffed the invasion. On the other hand Nicholas III was a mess and lost his crown and his dynasty when the troops got sick of the war.
Long story short, Russia has never really been our friend, only an ally of convenience once a century. We should stop pretending like regime change is going to change much. If Putin dies tomorrow, the next guy is going to legitimize his rule by telling his people that he is fighting the Imperialist Satan or whatever they call America these days.

No it’s not lol. If Russia truly believed this was an existential threat, then they’d react a lot more wildly than what we’re seeing out of them. This is a very easy case of a Geopolitical War.
Now for Ukraine, it can easily be argued that their very existence is on the line, and Russia is an existential threat to them.

Wait, what?
A more apt description would be the US invading Sonora, Baja, Chihuana, and Sinaloa for no rational reason, and then getting upset if Mexico invaded Cameron County, TX, in response.

Lol.... Keep telling yourself that! Russians are much more unified around their leadership than Americans are around theirs, although that's not saying much.
My understanding is that common, everyday Russians see America and the west as the aggressors and the instigators of the conflict.

Back the guy into a corner that has 1,000 nukes. Seems really rational behavior.

Meanwhile our military has been hollowed out to pre-WWII levels.

Both sides are being funded by the same people per the usual.

Well their instigation in 2014 leading to Maidan had a rational reasoning (thwarting EU integration of Ukraine).
There's nothing really there for this latest invasion. The little bit of territory they likely end up with as satellite states aren't THAT productive.
Unless they think they can get a permanent agreement from Ukraine not to integrate with the EU, which seems unlikely at this point.
They can probably get one for NATO, but nobody actually cares about Ukraine being in NATO.

Putin cares very much about Ukraine becoming part of NATO
