Why is this race close?

Kamala is one of the least likeable candidates to ever run. She didn’t get a single vote. She’s got high negatives across the board.
Her VP doesn’t move the needle.
All told this is the weakest democratic ticket since Dukakis /benson ticket but even that one had a solid VP in Benson. Dukakis got blown out. I mean totally blown out.
Current polls show this race as close on a national level. In the swing states, it’s close in most. Rasmussen, a poll that a trump heralds as a quality poll, is showing this race as close. Pennsylvania is within the margin with Trump leading.
All in all, this is a close race.
Trump has enormous support. He essentially has his own MAGA party. He got more votes than any Republican ever 4 years ago. Amazing.
So why is it close?

Now how well are certain areas going to insure there are no shenanigans is the better question.

Not sure I do on the whole but some are very good.
But if someone runs for president and ignores all polls, they’re foolish. Besides, it’s trump that continually points out the polling numbers and is on record with his confidence in Rasmussen. So Why does Trump believe the polls?
