I want to start carrying in the woods for obvious reasons and I want to get a 10mm for the stopping power and the XTEN COMP meets that with carry-ability. What are some lights the mount to this gun that fit flush with the barrel? TIA

I already know i want to get the TRIJICON RMRcc 3.25 MOA red dot. I will take suggestions on an optic as well.

Also what are you guys favorite custom Kayden holsters for IWB.

You plan on carrying that hog leg with a Trijicon RMR IWB in the woods? Why?

If it's just a gun for the woods, I'd have a TLR-1HL or an X300. Don't know if they extend past the barrel, but its really not that big if a deal if they do a little. I wouldn't make a concession on the lumens/candella to be flush for an application like you are planning. I have a TLR1-HL and can't justify the extra cost of the X300.

For a holster, I would use an OWB. I got a Safariland. If I'm climbing, hiking, working, etc. it's nice to have additional retention levels compared to just friction.

I love the looks of the regular XTEN and this pistol too. However, I've been holding off on buying due to all of the failure to feed/eject issues with them. Not sure if those issues have been corrected. I think most of the issues are with heavier grain bullets 220gr. to 240gr. But most people buy a 10mm to use those heavier bullets. Does anyone know if these issues have been fixed?

I use an old Raven Concealment kydex that I trimmed to fit the RMRcc. It’s configured for OWB right now, but it would go IWB as well.

There’s no reason to carry a compact in the woods. Compact is for close quarters, you’d be a lot better off with a full size. A gun is a tool, no reason to use the wrong tool imo.

I’m Assuming you mean for archery? No reason to carry a handgun during gun season either imo.

If it is primarily for carry in the woods, I would put a light/laser combo instead of an optic. Gives you the light you need and the ability to put the gun on target even if not in an ideal situation.

The issue with an optic is you have to be just about perfectly lined up in a shooting position to see the optic and be on target. With a laser, you can point and shoot from just about any position.

I love 10mm and have a Colt Delta Elite I bought for $500 over 30 years ago. Too heavy for me to carry but it shoots great.

Good luck!

I just bought a regular xten and have had numerous failure to feed and extract issues with the gun. Was using cci blazer 180 gr FMJ. Returned it to SIG, they ran 60 rounds through it with no issues. Discussed the possibility of limp wrist and loading the mags correctly. The service rep I was talking to acknowledged the mags were finicky. Haven’t shot it since I got it back from Sig.
