This is the life that so many married men live.
Sad.

Getting old is inevitable.
Getting fat is not.

Eh, it’s an old story. Men can age like whiskey. Women usually age like milk.

A sorority sister of my wife was about an IRL 7 in college ended up blowing up to 400 plus pounds for the large majority of her adult life

Maybe. But it’s still usually the case that men age better. There are exceptions to every rule, of course, but even women talk about the difference.

One piece of wisdom that a mentor dropped upon me when I was a young man was this: when you’re dating and evaluating girls for marriage, meet her mother. If she’s held up we’ll, there’s a good chance the daughter will also age well.

“As her mother is, so shall she be”.

When I was a teenager, there was a girl I thought was very pretty. I’d have loved to have been her boyfriend. I met her folks, and I was stunned at how different her mom was. She was quite a bit like the woman in the video. Her dad looked younger and was conventionally handsome despite being the same age. I saw wedding pics and pics from their early days on the wall. Like her daughter, she was very attractive back in the day. She just didn’t age very well. Makeup couldn’t hide it. It’s the luck of the genetic draw for some, but in general it really is true that most men age better. Just the way it is.

Always have to check the mom out. My MIL is tall and skinny and inner early 70s. Wife is tall and skinny in mid-40s.

I used to date her before she lost all that weight. Good girl. She called me possum. We’d get soft serve together and she’d let me massage her feet. Oh, the salad days of yore.

Why not both?

(I’m not a proud man, so if you only have pics of her bigger years, I’ll take them).
