Bought a Baratza Encore ESP in January and recently been having major channeling issues with my Bambino. I’ve read that are some flaws with the machine that causes the burr to separate out from the machine in increments and having to add shims.
I’m getting with Baratza soon to try and fix the issue but in the event I can’t what grinder would you recommend for no more than $450.
I would like for it to grind consistently and only have to clean the machine from time to time. I really want to find something that doesn’t require anymore additional attention for it to do its job.

major channeling issues
ZERO things have changed ? same beans, same batches, same everything ?
I'm not saying the grinder is not at fault, but channeling could be too many issues

All the same use to be able to grind on the 15-16 setting on the esp.
It would grind great, and could pull a shot with no issues within the 30 sec range. Now it comes out in 20-25 seconds and sprays everywhere.
I use French truck beans within a good roast date.

I've had a Bodum grinder in daily use 8 years. Similar current models list for about $130. When purchased they had a model with nylon gears and a similar looking model with steel gears. The latter was more expensive. My experience is that the nylon gears hold up well. You can spend much more or buy 2 or 3 Bodum grinders with glass catching cup.

Mazzer Mini.
Got it 10 years ago, will last my whole life.
Have not had to replace the burrs yet. Use it for espresso every day.

1ZPRESSO J
Hand Grinder for under $150. Beats most electric at over twice the price.
I've used Capresso for pour over coffee for twenty years.

Anything in the DF range or whatever fits your budget from Eureka.

Agree on Eureka. I had a speciality mignon that is still solid after 5 years.
