St. George officials sworn into office Monday…Mary Olive Pierson responds

Officials with the City of St. George took their oaths of office Monday night, marking the start of East Baton Rouge Parish's newest city government.
St. George's first mayor, police chief and board of aldermen were sworn in at a ceremony Monday evening at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Jones Creek Road with about 100 attendees, despite pushback from opponents who say the move is premature.
quote:
Voters within the city's limits agreed to the incorporation in an October 2019 election, but the matter was held up in courts for years after Baton Rouge leaders sued. Last April, the state Supreme Court ruled in favor of the incorporation by a 4-3 vote, overturning the decisions of two lower courts.
quote:
However, the legal battle is not yet finalized. Baton Rouge Mayor Pro Tem Lamont Cole filed a request for a rehearing last month, calling the incorporation a "looming train wreck" in recent court filings. The rehearing request argues that the Supreme Court failed to determine the official date of incorporation or city boundaries, which is required under state law.
quote:
Cole's attorney, Mary Olive Pierson, said the city does not officially exist yet.
"What are they getting sworn into, a non-existent city?" Pierson said before the ceremony. "These people are jumping the gun. They better not collect any public money, that's all I can tell them. Unless they want to go to jail."

I wonder if the Mayor-President of the parish attended the swearing in ceremony?

Didn't the LA Supreme Court already decide that the LA legislature ratifying the creation of the City of St. George is legal? Therefore the City of St. George exist.

At least they are saying it out loud. They are going to miss their cash cow that they can milk dry just to squander.

The Mayor-President, our “county president”, was too busy with her summer of hope campaign to stop in. She probably was riding her bike in Belfair or giving out lemonade in Glenn Oaks.
Btw, what happened to the letter MOP was going to send to get that lot in the corner of Bluebonnet and Jefferson Hwy back?

Mary Olive Pierson is a shriveled up old establishment hag who can’t get out of the Karen Lane. Eat a bag of dicks, lady. Your time is up.

Next move is to disband the archaic Mayor-President position of EBR that’s a relic of the past.

Is anyone else noticing how quick Lefties are to threaten their countrymen with loss of their rights? How casually they publicly talk of imprisonment of their political foes? Particularly lawyers and bureaucrats? These people are eternally hungry to dominate the lives of others. It’s a sickness. And we need to purge the sickness. This is still a country of Free Men, Mary Olive of Karen be damned.

She is clearly only in support of one area of the parish anyway, so it only seems fair. Her role as Parish President seems quite lost on her.

What will be interesting is the decades of Baton Rouge throwing shade on the success of St George that are sure to come.

They love to enact the caricatures of their enemies they've concocted in their heads
