Made a trip down to Tulsa (Owasso really) to bring my wife to a friends baby shower today. I had been a couple times before but just kinda landed on it being a bit underrated while driving back this evening. Keep in mind I’m not trying to say it’s some entertainment Mecca or anything but it seems like a decently good place to live. Nice outdoorsy things close by (including the gathering place which is one of the coolest parks I’ve ever seen), almost all the amenities (stores, etc.), some sports (D1 Tulsa and Oral Roberts, minor league baseball, g league basketball), they get decent concerts, decent sized airport. Maybe there’s things I don’t know about I’m missing but I just feel like I don’t hear people bring it up a lot but it seems like a place I could live and be happy.

The only thing I know about Tulsa is that it's one of the cities where The First 48 is filmed.

Having been in Kansas City for the past week, I’m going to say Kansas City. The downtown area is pretty cool and it’s very walkable. We went to the WW1 museum, saw live music two different nights (one R&B, one outlaw country), went to the Royals game, the local beer and food scene was amazing. It was a great experience.

Tulsa is also a national test market. Retailers and food industry test products and campaigns all the time so the area has all the latest trends and stuff as soon as or before the coastal mega cities (LA/NYC).

Plus I like the fact that western town and cities are all planned for and so are square cities. The design is in square miles and all roads are E/W and N/S making it easier to get around without getting lost.
