You must have missed the report that Ainge would take no less than a star player ALONG with 5-6 picks.
Woukd be a whole lot of egg on Griffs face if he made a trade for Lauri now. He had not one, but two chances to get Lauri for a piece of lint and a few pennies. If only he listened to a certain poster on here that kept saying to pull the trigger lol

Thank you. He is a foundational piece for the Bulls and has been labeled untradeable by their front office. It will cost a lot to pry him lose.

Yep. Don't want Clarkson, cam thomas, oubre, kuzma types

I really think he’s purposefully trolling.

Yeah, that just comes off as condescending.
I look at the landscape and judge off past trades to come up with compensation. Honestly those 5 picks are shite. The Sixers pick is 16 this year. Our pick next year would be in the 20's. Future picks in 26 and 28 from Philly (I am not sure who's pick they are), ours in 27. I don't think that's a great haul. I like Daniels, but I don't believe he's considered a great prospect at this point. I'm not even sure what position he is going to wind up, but he's not getting minutes on this team and can't get any better on the bench. He needs a change of scenery.
James Harden (and PJ Tucker) got back 3 1sts, a swap, 2 2nds and cash. I think that White and Vucevic would have more value, especially since neither are expiring or locker room cancers. I believe that you think that Vucevic is a negative asset, which is your right. But I do not agree. Some of the value comes with him.
White is an emerging star. He is super cheap. He will make less than 24M over the next two seasons combined. Ingram will probably make triple that amount. It just seems like a no brainer to me. He would be perfect for us..

You’re comparing Coby White who in his fifth year finally had a decent to pretty good season on a subpar team in the East to James Harden- a former 2 time league mvp who just led the league in assists and is a so called NBA star.
Yes White is super cheap, I like him a lot too but he has accomplished nothing. Hes had 4 crappy seasons and 1 really good one- that is not equal to emerging star. Yes he has a cheap contract but Ingram right now is a better player than Coby White. So there is no reason to give up 5 firsts and BI for a guy before this season who seemed like a bonafide bust. You’re absolutely a prisoner in the moment with this hypothetical trade. Its like “here take everything we have because I believe that this past year of Coby White means hes a future all star- even though the 4 years before it were absolute trash.
Whats ridiculous is your comparing a trade for Coby White for guys like Gobert and Harden- who are accomplished stars in this league. So yeah maybe it did come off as condescending because even though you say your looking at the landscape- you’re actually just looking at the sky and making up trades that dont make sense. Hey I got a great idea lets trade 7 firsts and BI for Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson. Hart is an emerging star in this league. See how ridiculous that sounds?

Situations matter. He was top 5 in ROY and had a solid 2nd season. Then was made a bench player the next two years and took a step back. He was a borderline all-star this past season at 23 years old. He's not a flash in the pan. That's not an unusual progression for someone that comes into the league at 19.
I don't know how you quantify or project someone to stardom. If he takes another step, just a slight step up from this past season, then he's there.

That's not how trade value is determined. It's who is the better asset. White has more value right now and going forward.
You might not like it, but White commands more value this offseason. It's not based on historical achievements. His age, salary, potential and fit are very desirable.

I factored in a bunch of trades for all kinds of people. I just used those as examples. If you are making a trade based primarily on picks, you have to include a lot, especially if none are projected early picks or have protections.
Is it still a bad deal trade if you take out the picks in 27 and 28? So, Nance, Danels, 3 1sts (24, 25, 26) for White and Vucvic. Is that still outlandish?

Have you come up with any serious trade proposals yet? I don't remember seeing one. But I'd love to see how you would reshape our team this offseason. If you don't mind..

Cobi White is the wrong Chicago guard to trade for. We should try to trade BI for Lonzo Ball.

Only if we can get Gentry back as HC

It’ll appear like pennies on the dollar to some but I think it would actually work for us very well..
Ingram and Liddell (toss in) to Orlando
Isaac, Howard, 2 1sts to Pels

Magic: Ingram, Capella
Pistons: CJ
Hawks: Herb, Nance, 3 Pels 1sts
Pels: Trae, Suggs, WCJ, Stewart, 4 2nds from Detroit
Likely takes one or two more 1sts to Hawks, but a deal like this could make Pels way better immediately and with everyone young for the foreseeable future. Also saves plenty under the tax (33 million under after trade) to being back Naji for whatever we want. At times if needed Stewart could plug in to the 4 spot also
Trae/Dyson/Jose
Suggs/Hawk/Naji
Trey/MLE/Matt
Zion/FA/EJ
WCJ/Stewart/Karlo

Is it that hard to read?
Out: Ingram, Cj, Herb, Nance
In: Trae Young, Jalen Suggs, Wendell Carter Jr, Isiah Stewart

That's a rape. Like Mongol gang rape.
Trae is a negative asset and we give up Herb AND 3, 1sts?
I mean I like WCJ but not for the equivalent of 5, 1sts and CJ/BI

Uhhh, if you think this then you must think everyone except maybe 5 players in the league is a negative asset…

Definitely alot of change, but it’s all guys that fit together
It would take Zion saying he wants to play with Trae for it to begin to happen though imo

Trae makes a shite ton of money, is a defensive black hole, and demands the ball run through him.
Maybe not a full on negative contract because he HAS won at a point, but he doesn’t strike me as a huge positive asset.
