Why aren’t criminal charges filed in cases like this?

So we burst (bust) into a home due to a disturbance call when presumably, no audible disturbance could be heard from outside the door....not to mention it's the wrong damn apartment.
Not what happened

I would argue going to the wrong apartment is definitely a 4th amendment issue, police just don't get to stop and/or harass random individuals. You're right on my warrant comment though.
Did you watch the Video? he went to the apartment he was told, Knocked on the door, 3 times, announced himself twice, waited for the guy to answer, He just answered with a gun in his hand.

Right.
The video shows:
- The cops stopped at the apartment office before heading to the apartment to attempt to confirm info.
- The cops met with, I'm guessing, an apartment manager or resident who explained why the call was made (neighbor who suspected a DV situation) and gave the exact apartment number that they went to. If it was the wrong apartment, it was because they were told the wrong number in this case.
- They clearly knocked on the door AND announced themselves multiple times very loudly ("Sheriff's office, open the door").
- At one point in the video, you hear someone mention police from inside the apartment before the door is opened.
- The guy opened the door with a gun in his hand at his side. Not holstered, but in his hand. The officer asked him to step back (and it doesn't appear that he did) and then shot him.

Ben Crump is in enemy territory in that County. He’s not getting what he wants.

If the story is true as laid out by the article the cop should be charged with murder.

Didn’t Crump knowingly invent and suborn perjury in the Travon Martin family’s civil action against that Orlando area homeowners association?

That's a cogent, intelligent, well thought out argument. Overruled.

Is it illegal to answer your door with a gun?

Yes.
Every. Single. One.

Sad thing is who knows what the truth is.

You mean “true as laid out by a racists lying dipshit” then sure
Maybe don’t answer the door with a gun in your hand after the cops announce they are at your door twice, and you are heard acknowledging there are cops at your door.

Well you can bet whatever Clump says ain’t it.
Or you can just watch the video of the entire encounter.

Is it illegal to do so? It is dumb, but I don’t think illegal. He didn’t point the gun at the cop. It’s his house.

Shitty scenario. Cop was definitely quick to the trigger but hard to blame him. Victim was definitely not smart in what appears to be a really shitty luck. I’m not sure why you open the door with a gun like that though honestly. If it’s a burglar, you’re gonna get shot first anyway.
Seems like he should have yelled back “who’s at the door?” Before opening

It was stupid it’s what it was.
so you wanted the cop to wait to get shot before he shot this dumbass?
Put yourself in the cops shoes.

I do not believe cops should immediately shoot every person they encounter who has a gun in their hand.

I don’t disagree, but you saw how quick the cop shot. Cops can get shot back real quick.
Cop will lose his job and possibly go to jail. But he’s alive. Plenty of cops every year lose their life in that same scenario
