re: Massive divide in the American public. I don't see anyway of bringing it together again.

Here’s the trend that concerns me the most: just like the left has already damn near maxed out, there is a growing number on the right who are developing those same characteristics of irrationality, irateness, delusional and unpredictability. Not to mention a decreasing value put not just on the package of reasonable facts associated with a matter, but seemingly blowing off even just a minimal effort for same altogether.

If another 9/11 type of event happened today, is our country even capable of coming together like it did in the months after that attack?
I don’t think so…which is scary and sad as hell.

You live in an urban bubble where group think is virtually the same which is almost exclusively liberal. Most people live in the suburbs because it is cheaper, that is where the divide is occurring.

Them: "we must unite"
Me: "I want nothing to do with you Marxist fricks, no thanks. Go play in the interstate"
Marxist "unite" = comply or be ostracized

The south already tried that. They weren’t peaceful about it either. As this board is wont to say, FAFO.

The divide was bigger in the 1970’s and it got fixed. For those who don’t remember…
- A President assassinated
- A presidential contender assassinated
- MLK assassinated
- A shooter at Kent State
- A Cold War with the USSR with nuclear holocaust in the cards
- Plane hijackings
- Vietnam War protests roiling the universities
The left used all of this to push for socialism and pushed too far. Amidst stagflation and all of the above, Ronald Reagan rose to the top. He united the country, winning a 60% majority in his 1984 race, along with 49 states.
The pendulum is swinging back.

You dipshits always resort to the same retarded talking points.
There will be a balkanization. It will be peaceful, you will be stuck with the poors and the soy boys. The current economic track make it impossible to survive as a sole entity.

Meanwhile, the political ideology of people who want to teach 10 year boys how to s*ck d*ck in school advance their agenda.
It's not the rot of the tap root, it's the finer roots and sinker roots that get in cracks initiate damage.
The Overton window is constantly shifting because people are being conditioned to accept it.

You’re telling me in most places, people don’t get along with each other? New Orleans is a harmonious utopia?

At my son’s flag football game last night, the mom o sat next to said “they’re so loud and always complaining about being treated differently” when I expressed surprise that there was a black team in the league that had all black kids on it and somehow also wore black uniforms. I brought it up but mostly to be like how the heck did the league commissioner think it was ok for the black kids to have to wear black jerseys? It reminded me of the power rangers when the black guy was the black ranger and the Asian girl was the yellow ranger. When the mom I was talking to made into a bitch about black people conversation , I happily and easily changed the subject.
Then she brought up outrage over trans legislation and bathrooms and I changed the subject again. It was easy! The lady’s kid is a great athlete and is a friend of my kid and she’s a nice enough person to chat with. I don’t need to know her feelings on every political issue to sit next to her at a football game and have a nice time. I wouldn’t say there is a divide between us just because I don’t agree with her ideas about black people and I can recognize that the emphasis on trans stuff is a big distraction so our legislators can keep ducking us over.

If the gap becomes to large, usually the way it’s bridged is with the bodies of one side or the other

It's not the daily interactions between street level America First/MAGA types and Dims that's the problem, it's the destructive political BS Dims/Groomers support and vote for that's destroying the constitutional republic and resulting in an unbridgeable political divide.

St George is the natural result of this divide.
Competent people will start to separate themselves from the urban dysfunction. Its normal and natural.

The increasing craziness of the fat left side of the democrats where they repeatedly change recent history even when there is video evidence of events and claiming men can be women and saying that a fit can't have a child is transphobic is splintering the democratic party.
Recent events from this round of protests and people now remember the insanity of the blm protests have gotten the less crazy democrats thinking wtf is happening?
So my guess is there will be a rift in the democratic party. Look at England. They changed to no hormones for kids. No men in female prisons.
The real crazy can leave the democratic party or sink to the back instead of running it.

The tranny debacle didnt move them. I am kind of hoping that the pro Palestinians are finally the breaking point for Democrats.
There are sane Democrats. They've had to keep their mouths shut, but I think this will be a tipping point.
