I was just thinking of all the players not in these playoffs like curry and Giannis and for whatever reason victor came to mind, The spurs have been awful for quite awhile and POP was the best or at least considered top 2 coach at one time. its like he has had 2 different careers. Goat level success and performance worthy of a firing a few years back.

I think they expected to just transition to their next superstar with Leonard but he forced his way out.
Kinda a wild Diva move for a guy with 0 personality. He was a perfect Heir apparent to Duncan.
But They’ll bounce back eventually Wemby is freakish

Losing three HOFs had more to do with it. Those Spurs teams were damn good and don’t get enough credit.

Liberalism destroyed his brain.

Trump and the death of his wife broke him

I guess the 20 straight years of competitive basketball with 5 titles wasn’t enough? No room for down time, even if it nets you another generational player.

Obviously Kawhi forced his way out then they were in that sorta weird DeRozan and Aldridge era. Traded Murray and tanked. Now they have Wemby and some young assets and are another couple pieces away. He won’t coach more than another 2-3 years though i feel.

Yeah I kinda think wemby would benefit from a younger coach. I don’t mean to knock pop had a helluva career. Everyone has to hang it up sometime

Pop is the Bill Belichick of basketball

everyone looks like a great coach when you have Tim Duncan, Manu, and Tony Parker in their prime along with kawhi later on. What you're seeing now is pop is a normal guy, nothing special

Does pop not speak a lot of anti-trump shite, unprompted?

This is dumb. You are measured as a coach on winning championships... When u have a championship team.
They haven't had a team capable of winning a title in a while.
When they do, pop will make a difference between a top 4 finish and a ring

He has liberal brain root. It was bound to happen.

Nah man, it's cuz he's a liberal. Him and Phil Jackson both were terrible coaches because of their politics.

This has nothing to do with basketball coaching ability. His rosters were bottom of the barrel. The roster now is still trash outside of a rookie Wemby.
I'm no Pop fanboy, but to say his the decline of his teams' results has anything to do with his dislike of a politician is a huuuuge reach.

Look at his roster he's had the last few years. They are in a comlete rebuild right now. They haven't been trying to win games since DeRozan left.
Phil Jackson could have been in the same boat in Chicago, but he retired when Jordan retired.

Just wait until Trump gets back in office.
