Quick examples:
Obama - debt went from $12T to $20T, a rise of 70%.
Trump - debt went from $20T to $28T, a rise of 40%.
There are numbers for Biden but the debt number is six months old, roughly.
Why do you think % increases are the best way to track debt increases? Outside of fondling Trump's balls, of course.

And in fairness, it should be noted that Trump ran up his debt in 4 years to Obama's 8.

I am quoting the numbers from the site. It's not my analysis. When I say I'm giving examples, that should be a clear indicator. Some of you just look for ways to get angry.

Trump was adding 1.2T annually before Covid, which was about on par with Obummer. Biden on the other hand…2.5 trillion annually.

quote:You should look at both percentages and actual dollar amounts because the value of a dollar is less over time and presidents who’ve inherited bigger and bigger debts also inherited bigger and bigger debt interest payments as part of their budget.
Why do you think % increases are the best way to track debt increases?
Running a $500 billion deficit 25 years ago would’ve been a lot worse than the same dollar amount today because of normal inflation (not Biden-flation) and a much smaller amount of the budget going towards interest payments on previous debt
