Folks, I Was Wrong About Mike Johnson…He’s Got To Go

I thought he was sincere about changing things and that he wanted to change things but couldn’t at this time due to simple numbers reality. And the numbers reality is in fact reality. He doesn’t have the numbers to stop anything.
But his previous statements of just giving him more numbers and he would bring the changes the evolving Republican voter wants…are not reality. He is a liar. He is a fake. He is not the answer.
His new invocation of W’s “Axis Of Evil” and his complete deep throat of the Pentagon and the CIA and the FBI that he so embarrassingly whored himself out for the past 24 hours…is frankly unacceptable.
He’s not playing long game strategy for changing anything.
Mike Johnson will NEVER stop or try to stop sending your taxpayers to fund foreign wars, he will NEVER stop lining the pockets of the Defense industry executives and politicians, he will NEVER question or attempt to hold the Pentagon or State Department accountable, he will NEVER provide proper oversight of the intelligence agencies.
He has been bought.
He is a fraud.
He has to go.
Follow the lead of Thomas Massie and toss Mike Johnson out on his arse.
Republicans must do better. And until a Republican Congressional leader that will work to implement what the new evolving Republican voter demands from his or her party arrives who will kill what has been party business as usual, the current Republican office holders must be punished. They must feel it. They must be made to realize that such failure of leadership that has for too long been the status quo of the DC GOP will not be tolerated.
Bunk Moreland, you were right. I allowed myself some hope. Johnson seemed different.
But Mike Johnson sucks.

Anyone who will take that job will do the same thing. We tried to tell y'all this when KM was still SOH.

It’s not the person in the seat, it’s the seat itself right now.
The Republican Party has one seat majority….how do you expect anything to get done?
I think its crap too, but just being realistic
Trump needs to win, we need to win the senate back by 3-4 seats and house by 15-20 and then you can see actual change
Till then we will continue this crap

An attempt to change out Johnson before the election would probably lead to a Hakeem Jeffries speakership.
They should wait until after the election to oust him.

These people are all threatened when they take these new roles with government .

This.
You could stick the most conservative person in America in that seat and similar things would happen to them.

Trump gave him the go ahead on the Ukraine aid. Israel gets 26 billion. Trump has always been an Israeli pole smoker.

Well, you may be right.
But I’ll be damned if I take another W foreign policy “conservative.”

I agree but wonder why every single last one of them has flipped once in office? It happens first when we send them off to DC to bring change. Once they get there before long they have changed their tune. By the time they are speaker they understand the rules of the game. So when they run for speaker why would they make promises they know they aren’t going to keep? It’s political suicide.

Until Israel and Iran started trading missiles, I was 100% against helping to fund Ukraine but then this situation sort of slapped me in the face and opened my eyes. I’m still 90% against it BUT if the Iran/Israel thing gets out of hand, we need Russia bogged down in a quagmire in Ukraine as much as possible because they’re aligned with Iran. Last thing we need is Russia, and potentially China, getting in on that action. I don’t like the money we’re pissing away there but if it distracts Russia and prevents them from entering a broader war that breaks out in the Middle East, then ok.

No.
You missed everything I said in op.
I fully understand the math right now. And I accepted it. I understood why Johnson had no choice but to take L after L after L.
That’s not the point, though.
The point is he is not going to make any changes. Your statement:
quote:

Is not going to happen. There will be no change if Republicans win 15-20 House seats.
Because Mike Johnson is a FRAUD.
He just fully committed himself to never ending foreign war, full acceptance of whatever the Intel agencies want to do, and complete deference to the MIC.
Mike Johnson will change NOTHING regardless of how many numbers he has.
Because Mike Johnson is a fraud.

At this point it would be better to give the seat to democrats. Our rhinos just do what ever the democrats want anyways . This idea we just need more republicans in the house is bull. Democrats have caught up to republicans in the house because of what republicans are doing .we need republicans who care about the country and their voters more then stealing our tax dollars.

To be honest, I was also in favor of the move to oust McCarthy. I think it is worth showing once in a while what power a vocal minority can wield. I didn't necessarily see that process as dysfunctional, I thought it was healthy. The Squad could have done similar things a few years back, but they somehow get put in place.
SFP and Roger were the ones who told this board over and over that getting rid of McCarthy was a road to nowhere.
I'm upset about Johnson's flips on FISA and Ukraine, but I don't think ousting him now is the way to go. But, I understand wanting to burn it all down. America First just doesn't have the support to get someone in the House to hold the line.
What's most interesting to me is how MTG wanted to stick with McCarthy and Gaetz wanted him gone, but now MTG and Massie have the pitchforks.

You can vote for that if you wish.
I will not.

Both flipped. Massie supported KM pretty openly, too.
The issue is simple. It's easy to talk shite when you're a random House member. Hell, you can even be a hypocrite like the 2 above and Gaetz (Who voted to renew FISA in 2018). When a person gets the big chair, the spotlight becomes bright and the pressure heavy. Nobody wants to be blamed for destroying the GOP in an election year (which a forced shutdown would do, and that's the only bullet in the chamber).

Dont disagree with what you said but is goofball Tracey saying McRathy never worked with Dems to get something passed?

This afternoon, the House overwhelmingly passed a 45-day temporary spending bill after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, unable to overcome disagreements in his own party turned to House Democrats for help. In the more Democrats voted for the bill than Republicans.Sep 30, 2023

I will still vote against it. I just see some justification for it now, that’s all.

I just couldn’t believe it when I heard this bespectacled arse wipe stand up there and quote W post 9/11 bull shite as the bedrock of House Republican policy. And just absolutely swallow the cocks of the CIA, NSA, FBI and refer to them as gospel and above reproach or even question…I was floored. It felt like it was 2002 again. He actually said he was all for perpetual proxy war with no limits.
This was a new route by him. He was on a different level.
He’s now owned.

I agree with just about everything you laid with that pragmatic and prudent approach. It’s all very necessary, not that it’s all done in the most efficient/legitimate manner - review and revision where necessary should ALWAYS be in the picture. But again your approach is prudent.
