The Hilux Champ would dominate the market over here, you could buy a new truck with durability like a Toyota for less than $15k. Atleast from a work industry side. A new Honda SxS cost over $20k with no AC and hardly any towing capacity. It’s total BS what the government adds on to the truck with the emissions crap they add.

4x4 and extended cab w better crawl through and I’m in.
Agreed, that crawl thru is pretty small- but honestly i feel like the only reason you’d really need a crawl thru is to make a quick getaway if youre camping overnight and the vehicle is approached by a dangerous animal, or human.. hopefully youre not too fat to get thru it in that scenario ..
Ive noticed that many truck campers are doing away with crawl thru windows entirely , which isnt good for safety .
This website has some other cool views of the interior and crawl thru .

It’s not that hard to reach across my body and shift a regular (LHD) manual with my left hand. I would think I could probably shift a RHD manual with my left hand as if it were normal, though depending on the pattern, it may take a little getting used to.

Saw a Honda Type R with a $10k market adjustment + $3,000 for paint protection.
US dealers are drowning in inventory and living in the past.
And a CRV was 48K with $2k in paint sealant.

100 miles of driving at most if you're already proficient with a standard transmission.
Say what you will about Asia, but they've got so many better options than the bureaucrats will allow us regarding bare bones pickup trucks and other automobiles without the bells and whistles. There are exciting things coming out across the pond but we can't get them here because big government wants to, "keep us safe."

Is that cabin rated for a turret?

The only thing I’ve really used the crawl through for, on my Lance truck camper, is dogs. They usually sleep in the backseat of the car and I put a fan there to pump in cool air. So yeah.
I guess if it were just a two seater cab but with a highway-safe diner seat like some class Cs have you would need the full walk through access (thinking kids).
Definitely more a solo or couples set up.
But I want a lift and 4x4 for ski trips etc. I love my current setup. But after my last cross-country trip I swore off long drives in it. I may do some mods and lighten it up some. But it’s a monster. I like the compact Toyota.

Have you ever done the Alaska Highway (AlCan), 1400 mi thru Canada, starting above Seattle and going all the way up to Fairbanks AK ? That’s my dream trip .

RV manufactures are still trying to sell those things like its COVID.

In 1973 My dad drove the family from Fairbanks AK to Biloxi MS. 5 of us in a Impala. I wish I had that car.
A old plaque my dad had from Alaska.
Alaska Highway
Winding in and winding out
fills my mind with serious doubt
whether the lout that built this route
was going to Hell or coming out.

General consensus in the comments is that it wont be offered in USA due to American greed, and the fact that dealers would want to ask closer to $100k and they know they probably wouldnt get that much for it.. god forbid they offer something economical .
More like all the safety bullshite and emissions crap.

What is the cost. I've seen everything but a price on all 3 models

Very cool.. but the highway has apparently improved greatly since then.. the whole thing is paved, and you dont need to bring ur own gas cans and spare tires anymore.. although i have heard that there are long stretches of the highway without cellphone reception .

First sneak-peeked in late 2022, the Toyota IMV 0 concept grew into one of the most modular vehicles to ever see its way out into the sunlight. And it quickly transformed from rugged, little concept to production sub-Hilux mini-truck as the Hilux Champ. Thai motorhome manufacturer Carryboy has jumped off the Toyota's modularity to roll out a creatively configured alcove motorhome module that turns the little Champ into a roaming five-person micro-lodge.
