Can anyone tell me how Nelson Peltz is an 'activist'?

Disney shareholders reject activist investor Nelson Peltz's board nominees - msn link
Explain to me how Disney's wokification isn't the 'activist' in this scenario, and Peltz isn't one who just wants solid content to grow the brand and make more money for investors.
TIA

you don’t understand what an activist investor is obviously

Every long time Disney shareholder should be an activist at this point. Have you seen the stock’s performance over the last 10 years? Woof.

It's almost as if you didn't read the subject line and instead had a ready made snarky response.
Try explaining the 'activist' part of Nelson Peltz.
BTW, how's that stock price doing since Wednesday's vote? Smooth sailing for Disney, huh?

This is shareholder activism, and Peltz is a classic case of one as he uses his equity shares to try to pressure management.
Bill Ackman, Mario Gabelli, and Carl Icahn are also activist investors. I don’t see how they would oppose that term. It’s like calling LeBron James a basketball player.

Yeah, and then Disney Marvel announced a chick Silver Surfer in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie.
More bombs at the box office incoming!
Good for them.

It's just a term for what he was doing.

That's the correct response.
Thanks.
Activist investing is the practice of buying a large amount of a company's stock with the goal of gaining influence and pressuring the leadership team to make a specific set of changes to the enterprise.

I’m not sure why people have been praising him as some sort of savior.
He was a producer on the M Night Shamylan Avatar movie and forced him to put his daughter in it.

Yeah, and the idea of nepotism with Disney execs simply doesn't exist when it comes to putting their own kids or friend's kids into D+ shows.
With respect to how Disney is being run though, Peltz's views are legitimate.

RIght now those in power say a man is woman, a woman is a man, kids can cut off their dicks and be a dolphin if they feel like. If they call you an activist you are an activist. What you can see with your own two eyes is another matter.

There was nothing snarky about his response. Peltz is the definition of an activist investor. Not everything “activist” needs to be viewed through today’s political lens. How about you go read up on what an activist investor actually is.

He wants to put Perlmutter back in charge of Marvel. That alone is enough to make anyone support him.

I am guessing you are in a career far from finance or Wall Street.
Peltz is the very definition of an activist investor in the Board of Directors-control sense. Politics has nothing to do with the term.

Yeah, I figured that out. (See thread above)
This is the result of non-stop lying and propaganda by the MSM when they don't elaborate when using descriptive words and not clarifying between the term activist investor between 'activist investor'.

this has been a great thread
