I read the article - she sounds like she doesn’t want to work
From the article:
At the public library, the schedule was every 9 days off. I didn’t have to stand there and wave a little mermaid bubble blower around however.

Managers created the schedule so days off were upwards of 10 days apart

I'm not saying it's the norm, but there are significantly more trannies working there than prior to Covid.

I really don't get the Disney hate here. But I will say virtually every engineer I have ever know would have loved to work for disney, they do a lot of cool mechanical/electrical.controls stuff in the background and it would seem pretty fun to me. The call them imagineers

I'm going to guess in the 6 years since it happened she has maybe embellished the story a little a lot. It read as someone who thought they would walk in someone would see how much they love Disney, she would flash her marketing degree and get a six figure job utilizing her degree. She got there and realized she was at the bottom of totem pole degree or not and when it became apparent that she would most likely need years of service before the doors she hoped for would open she opted to use her degree for a different company.

There’s a ton of people that work there.

My cousin worked there and said it was great as a 20 something. I think he mainly worked on the parking lot tram.

Dude? Do you live on this planet?
There are trannies in every high school now.
There are trannies in my own office.
People can pretend they don't exist, but they are popping up everywhere. You can't avoid it.
I can't wait for this "fad" to die out. Still waiting for the tattoo fad and crayola-hair-dye fads to die, too.

Working at Disney Parks. Anyone ever worked at one?

If anyone here ever worked at a Disney park, what kept you from killing yourself?
Yea, those would be a couple of reasons.

If you're in your upper teens or early 20s, it's a gold mine for girls the same age just looking to have fun, and super easy to meet based on the setup.
Seems like the idea of meeting girls makes the OP want to kill himself. We're all a bit different and have our quirks, I guess.

quote:Yep, not sure if they still do but 25 ish years ago, then had a College Program.
One of my roommates back in college did some sort of summer internship there. He was neck deep in strange the whole time. He loved it.
I didn't do that, I'd just drive up and work seasonally on my own, not part of that program.
But back then they had a place called Vista Way. It was apartments that housed all of the College Program folks. So 1 place where 1000s of college age kids on their own were just looking to party every day. It was just awful, the worst...or something like that.

I used to sell ice cream at epcot back in the day, I also worked at universal for a bit. They were jobs like any other.

I knew a couple people who did the college intern deal there in the mid 2000's. As others stated it they all enjoyed it and claimed there was no shortage of willing and able fellow interns of the opposite sex.

A friend's daughter worked Disneyland as Snow White. Good pay and benefits, but she quickly got fed up with the creepers creeping on her. She quit.

I was head of waterpark safety and guards at typhoon lagoon in the mid 90s. Bikinis all day and hotel room keys all night kept me from even considering killing myself. But i was broke.

I think it was for a semester, or at least a couple months, two of them did it multiple times. Stories I basically got back were everyone was "in a relationship" with someone back home for the first two weeks, and then it was like a restaurant in a college town, but it was more of a 3-1 girl to guy ratio with 20-23 yr old girls from all over the world. If my chosen career path would have been aided in anyway shape or form by doing the program their stories were 100% a selling tool to go do it.
