Cargo ship revs up engines and steers into Bridge support

I know this topic has been posted a few times, but in this video clip notice how the ship instantly has the engines fire up with the exhaust plume in time to steer right into the main support beam. Add to the fact that the FBI IMMEADIATELY comes out and said it wasn't an act of terror. Video in up right corner is the one I am referring to.

Everything is a conspiracy these days.

Ship lost power 2x right before impact. I'd have to think that revving up the engines to get back on course was what happened.
How it lost power, at that critical point, seems sus.
Also, there was talk of a strong wind? Doesn't seem like it on the water surface. Little to no chop, that I could see.

When the media is making it a conspiracy it’s clear it’s just an accident.

Captain could've had a medical emergency and passed out. The ship could've had some mishaps that caused it not go in the direction the captain was steering. Fire could've accidentally erupted..and burned some of the crucial parts of the ship, making it impossible to maneuver it.
Lot of shite could've happened. Doesn't need to be a conspiracy theory.

They could also have revved up the engine after a power loss to make corrections or reverse but that isn’t as fun as going full speed towards it.

Saw this from someone who is familiar with these types of ships.
Power Goes Out
Generators Kick In (Exhaust you see)
Power Comes Back On (enough power to drop anchor)
Anchor drop causes turn into bridge
The captain calling in the mayday when the initial power went out saved lives. Workers on the bridge closed the bridge to traffic.
Just an unfortunate acccident, and I love a good conspiracy theory.

Lol... I'm all for a good conspiracy theory, but ..... This seems pretty cut and dry. frick, the video shows the ship lose power twice before hitting bridge. Why did it happen right then?
Murphy's law. Sometimes, shite happens.

In reverse probably. You cannot stop that much weight that fast. stupid post

My retort to our original resident conspiracist here, TXTiger, used to be asking him: If EVERYTHING is a conspiracy (which seemed to be his sort of default position), isn't that the same as if nothing really is?
At this point, though - frick - who knows?

I think it may have been an issue of the engineers maybe getting the engine back online if you are referring to the smoke stack. The emergency generator kicking on won’t give as much smoke but you’ll see some electrical systems lighting off.

Watch this video of the actual route of the ship, then delete your post

Wind.
Current.
Pilot trying to maneuver (probably trying to back out) between the two stalls.

(1) The Captain was not in charge. A Harbor Master was.
(2) The Harbor Master was not unconscious. He sent out a distress call to authorities letting them know the ship was uncontrollable.

This. The only thing I’m intrigued by is how it’s a miracle they prevented traffic after the Mayday but unfortunately 8 ppl were still on the bridge. I haven’t followed much since earlier this morning.
