Yes I thought about making this joke, but a bunch of people just died here
I’m confused by the number being reported. They called it a “mass casualty event”. I’m only seeing that 7 people are believed to fallen in the water - 6 are missing?

Here's a good video of it. It's sped up but you can see the ship has no power. Cars traveling across the bridge. Lights come back on and a plume of black smoke from the smoke stacks as the engine restarts. Loses power again. Then comes back on before it hits the bridge.
From that video it almost looks as if they would've missed the bridge piling if the power wouldn't have come back on.. I don't know, it's hard to tell in the dark.

Man...can you imagine being one of those last cars to make it off the bridge?
You crest the top, see the ship heading for disaster, and floor it. Just redlining it. Blow the engine? Who cares,
Daddy's making it home baby.

And Dumb & dumber confirmed it was from Russia.
The Dali ship was built in South Korea. It belongs to Singapore-based Grace Ocean Pte Ltd, which is owned by a Hong Kong group.
Synergy Marine is the Singapore company that was operating the ship. It flies under Singapore’s flag & was sailing to Sri Lanka.
Absolutely nothing involving North Korea.
I didn't think that cast was going to catch any fish but I got two so far.

I was making fun of the guy saying it was from Yemen and I got two internet cops to arrest me.

I read somewhere it was a ship possibly from Yemen? Isn’t that our enemy so why would their ship be allowed here? Always a foreigner of some type.

You and a few others are the only people I know that I would trust being in a true emergency situation. Other people are too oblivious and would have no clue what they would do until it's too late.

Looking at the bridge I am still a little unsure why the furthest right span failed.
To me it looked like with the left pier out, the right span turned into a simple span supported on both sides (one side the remaining pier, and the other the approach).
My guess is the furthest right section of the bridge (where the bridge starts) was never meant to support that kind of shear load when the central span fell, but I do buildings and not bridges.
Any bridge structural guys out there that can help me out?

And to think Peej predicted it was an inside job orchestrated by Diddy and the Belgians.

It’s kinda wild if this would’ve happened a couple hours later the death count would be in the hundreds
