They can go frick themselves.
If it is any consolation to you, Yoakam is still alive.
(What? Too soon? FTR, I liked Toby Keith.)

John Anderson got in. Always thought he was very underrated

Good for Toby. Should have already been in.

How pathetic to let Toby Kieth in now. Is it that hard to get it?

He’s too country for them.

the price for getting in was dying

These HOF’s are always reactionary. Sinead O’Connor just got in the RNR HOF and had been eligible for over 10 years and the only thing that changed is that she died this year so she got in. Same goes for Kate Bush who was probably eligible for over 15 years but got in after her forgotten about song was resurrected on Stranger Things.

Why they gotta wait for people to die for this to happen

Yoakam will be in eventually.

She was NOMINATED for the first time. She and 14 others will find out if they make it next month.
In the fan vote she’s dead last on who belongs. Highly doubt she gets in this year but I do agree she was only nominated because she died. I can think of 100 people that belong in it more than her

Hell Patty Loveless just got in last year and she should have been in years ago. She is arguably the best traditional female country singer of the last 30 years. Still criminally underrated

Dwight will never get in.

He got rejected by Nashville in the late 70s and Dwight has nothing good to say about them since then.
I wouldn't be surprised if he declined an invitation.

Cash was still alive and inducted back in 1980 at the age of 48.

With all due respect, Dwight Yoakam is no Johnny Cash.
On a related note, at least the Country HOF hasn't started down the path of inducting Lil Nas X or TayTay in over legitimate country artists ... yet. (For reference, see the increasingly preposterous so-called "Rock" hall of fame and then laugh at them.)

Please explain why you believe this?

He was already rejected back in the 70s and now pushing 70 himself, he was never part of Nashville.
It would be so shallow for them to inducted him in after he is dead when he should be inducted before that happens.

Well, it can be argued, legitimately, that Taylor Swift was a bona fide country artist for 8 years, and released four very popular albums in that span. She was certainly a country act when she played Tiger Stadium.
