Maybe they better not cast this guy on Naked & Afraid, but seems like he could fare pretty well on Alone.

Might be a pervert, but definitely a baw. This is every Cajun's bugout bag dream. Maybe History Channel needs to run a Louisiana swamp season instead of up in Canada. How long do you think you could last living off the land in the Swamp? What would be your 10 items? No guns or mosquito spray

A man who was wanted for sex crimes was arrested after he was found living in a Louisiana swamp, surrounded by homemade traps, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release Monday afternoon.

On March 12, the U.S. Marshals Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force received an anonymous tip that Schaller was “possibly living deep in the Louisiana swamp,” in the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area in the Atchafalaya Basin, east of Lafayette, according to a news release.
quote:
After a one-mile infiltration into the wilderness by authorities, Schaller was found at an encampment on March 14, the release said. The structure he was living in was constructed from tree limbs, tarps and a parachute cord, and had several game traps near the area made from paracord and small limbs. Authorities also said Schaller had an early warning system made of string and aluminum cans.
Schaller told investigators he had been living off the land, including small game and rodents, since around January.

One mile in isn’t “deep in the swamp”…that’s a walk to the deer stand.

I wonder how many criminals there are, that we don’t know about, that are hiding out in swamps and stuff down here.

Its more common than you think for criminals or people just fed up with the system (bad divorce, lost job, etc) to just bug out in a wilderness area.

Still...very impressive given his situation. living off the land out there is pretty impressive.
not having bug spray tho has got to be hard

I think I’ll finally be over my fear of being attacked by an animal now, when I’m out there in the dark now. Thanks.

No doubt. That would up the difficulty level if he didn't have any orange.
Ice-T would have started hunting them instead.

Thankfully no booby traps like at Reggie LeDoux's place...
