I will not disagree with that. What caused this shite show to begin? The inventors/releasers of Covid maybe? We were hitting on all cylinders economically. They had to stop that.
The virus didn't warrant the response it got. Trump made a mistake taking the knee on Covid.

To be fair, is it really his fault?
He’s been in DC for 50 years and nothing has ever been his fault, so why start now?

It’s really SAD! Families are struggling!

Yet, he will get 100 million votes!!

Well I’m sure Ron or any other president would have handled better, right? Gtfo out of here with that same old tired shite.

Groceries aren’t tied to inflation numbers.

Housing inflation started in 2018 because of multiple reasons, including a backlog of new buyers entering the market at the same time after years of local governments having reduced housing permit approvals after 2008. There already wasn’t enough supply to meet demand, then Covid hit and drove people to the burbs, and then rates increased, pouring gas on the fire that had been burning for a few years.
Lots of stuff led up to housing inflation.

Groceries certainly seem to be up more than that.
At least nobody’s feelings are getting hurt.

I keep hearing that - why is it not ??
Seems to me the price of basic food would be perhaps the primary indicator of inflation.

because if the govt went by numbers that made sense they'd have to report that the economy is NOT doing great.
but by disjoining food, energy, and housing from inflationary indicators they get to basically make up whatever story they want..

The actual Zillow Affordability Report is even more damning
quote:
In 2020, a household earning $59,000 annually could comfortably afford the monthly mortgage on a typical U.S. home, spending no more than 30% of its income with a 10% down payment. That was below the U.S. median income of about $66,000, meaning more than half of American households had the financial means to afford homeownership.
Now, the roughly $106,500 needed to comfortably afford the mortgage payment on a typical home is well above what a typical U.S. household earns each year, estimated at about $81,000.

The government excuse being "those are too volatile so we take those out".
The average person doesn't understand it anyway so they get away with it.

Why did this get downvoted to oblivion? It’s true. Food and energy are considered too volatile to include in the core inflation numbers we usually see.

I buy Zillow leads. Quality of people looking and price has gone downhill too

Same groceries yesterday that were 75-80 pre-Biden are now $125

It’s so bizarre people credit or discredit presidents with things that they have very little effect on. Not just this issue and I’m not trying to praise or bash either dude, but the American public has an unfounded belief that presidents have more power than they actually do when they are kind of the weakest of the three branches of government when it comes to enacting change.

Also heard a stat today that inflation has gone up around 25% the last 4 years. It’s definitely more than that.
