not sure what it was called but someone would crumple up a coke cup and throw it, someone picks it up and runs for their life until tackled by 20 guys and piled on. He throws the cup out from under the pile and someone else grabs it and the process starts over until the bell rang to go back to class.

quote:the game where you throw the football to a bunch of your friends from a distance and yell out a dollar amount - receivers have to accumulate enough "money" from catches to reach the jackpot amount - first to reach the jackpot amount wins and gets to be the football thrower in the next round - JACKPOT!
good ole times

I’m a child of the mid 70s to mid-80s. What do you think?

Seriously, my son came in the other day and said he had been playing "Tackle the Man With the Football"...
I asked how it was played and it's Smear the Queer.

Absolutely. Also played a ton of lawn darts and I’m here to tell the tale.

Absolutely.
The queer part came in when someone would purposely fumble to avoid the hit.
My 10 year old son and his friends play a game I had never seen, but I have to admit it is pretty brilliant. Similar to Jackpot someone described above.
You have one passer and unlimited receivers. Passer throws bombs and it's a Hail Mary type situation when the ball comes down. If no catch, the ball goes back to the passer and the game begins again. If there is a catch, that receiver becomes the passer until another completed pass. At which point, that receiver becomes the passer. No player limit, unlimited rotations and it helps develop the player's ability to go up and come down with contested jump balls.
