Dealers will frick you over on anything. Last time I bought the dealer was blatantly fudging my paperwork and lying to me about what it said so that I’d sign an agreement to pay way more than we had shook hands on.
Also had a dealer in Texas give me a deal online, we agreed on everything, then when I got there they offered me 1/3rd of the value on my trade-in that Carmax had offered the day before. He only did that bc he knew I drove in from LA, so they played hard ball thinking I’d have to give in. I did not

What I learned is if you get a price that you want IMMEDIATELY close the deal because if that dealer thinks you chopped TF out of that price they will screw you. I thought a deposit would do that apparently not.
