I threw this out in a thread about 80-90s comedies the other day and I’ll just repeat it here -
I’m going with Oscar from 1991 with Sylvester Stallone. It was directed by John Landis. The casting is excellent with veterans like Kirk Douglas, Don Amiche, Yvonne De Carlo; great “character” actors like Kirkwood Smith, Art Lafleur, Tim Curry, Chaz Palminteri, Peter Riegert and William
Atherton; not to mention Marissa Tomei, Linda Gray and Ornella Muti.
It’s a screwball comedy which was certainly against type for Stallone. I saw
It in the theater back in the day and thought it was great then. It’s held up extremely well.
