I can't believe I'm agreeing with TD0421, but he is right. You have a colossal blindspot when it comes to this stuff and you let your biases delude you into these outrageous claims. I see you in other threads on this site and most of the time, you are correct (or, at the worst, reasonable) when it comes to whatever you are arguing. When it comes to Xbox though, you are not at all based in reality.

Let's look at 2023 exclusives for Xbox

Hi-Fi Rush - Fun, well-made AA game. Realistically, does not move the needle or make it without GP.

Redfall - Absolute shite.

Starfield - Gigantic letdown for the vast majority of fans. I understand that you enjoyed it and that's fine, but that is not the consensus. It has a Mostly Negative review rating on Steam for gods sake LMAO. This was supposed to be the blockbuster that saved Xbox and turned the tides, but it ended up doing the opposite.

Forza - Decent critic reviews, massive letdown for the community, relatively niche genre, very low sales thanks to GP. Given its budget, yikes.

In a down year for Sony exclusives, Playstation still had Spiderman 2 (a bigger release than all of Xbox's put together - fastest selling PS game ever) and FF XVI. Sony still won in a year where they had TWO exclusives

To claim that Xbox won 2023 is silly enough. To claim its won multiple years in the past and that it hasnt been close? Absolutely delusional. Come on man

Only one of those is a first party exclusive, and Square Enix is publicly stating their deal with Sony has been detrimental to their brand (and then introduced a new game at XBox's Developer Direct). Hard to view that as a win.

Everything you say could be true, but it still sold at least as many copies at SM2 (likely more) and had far more players. The usage numbers point to the overwhelming majority of gamers enjoying this game and it has been played for more time than SM2 was played. It is also still being played and discussed while no one talks about SM2 at all. The only ones with a "blind spot" are the ones claiming SM2 somehow beat even just Starfield by itself, much less the entire sleight of Xbox first party exclusives in 2023. It didn't even come close.
