They make too many quality exclusives
They don't do that, and Square Enix has publicly stated their exclusives deal with Sony has harmed that company. Sony is losing the exclusives war.

Sorry the truth hurts.

I have both consoles. I know which one has better games. But I am surprised you’re able to respond so quickly with Phil Spencer’s balls in your mouth.

Only if you're admitting it's the Xbox.
Xbox has been dominating the first party exclusives race for a couple years now (there is no comparison). But so far, in 2024, Xbox is winning the third party exclusives race too. Simply because of one game: Palworld. That isn't by accident though. MS's investment in the "id@xbox" program led to Palworld. Here's an article from 2021 where you can find a previous game from PocketPair on the list of id@xbox titles. This game was an Xbox exclusive not because of any deals with MS but because of MS's investments in indie developers.
The biggest game to date of 2024 owes its success to its partnership with Xbox. It is nonsensical for them to throw in the towel right as everything they've been doing for multiple years now starts to bear fruit.

You can compare quality of exclusives.
I’d rather 1 good exclusive vs 5 I have no interest in.

he's a family man, i'm surprised he has enough time to play the entire GamePass library.

You're entitled to your opinion. SM2 did not beat out Xbox's sleight of first party exclusives in 2023 by any measurable metric.

Poorly, imo. Not a fan of Sony at all and my decision not to buy PlayStation consoles has nothing to do with Xbox or any sort of fandom. I've felt this way for years, but their actions during the MS/ABK purchase just solidified my opinion of them. Hopefully I live for another 60 years or so, so I won't say never, but at the moment I can't think of anything that would convince me to ever buy another PlayStation.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with TD0421, but he is right. You have a colossal blindspot when it comes to this stuff and you let your biases delude you into these outrageous claims. I see you in other threads on this site and most of the time, you are correct (or, at the worst, reasonable) when it comes to whatever you are arguing. When it comes to Xbox though, you are not at all based in reality.
Let's look at 2023 exclusives for Xbox
Hi-Fi Rush - Fun, well-made AA game. Realistically, does not move the needle or make it without GP.
Redfall - Absolute shite.
Starfield - Gigantic letdown for the vast majority of fans. I understand that you enjoyed it and that's fine, but that is not the consensus. It has a Mostly Negative review rating on Steam for gods sake LMAO. This was supposed to be the blockbuster that saved Xbox and turned the tides, but it ended up doing the opposite.
Forza - Decent critic reviews, massive letdown for the community, relatively niche genre, very low sales thanks to GP. Given its budget, yikes.
In a down year for Sony exclusives, Playstation still had Spiderman 2 (a bigger release than all of Xbox's put together - fastest selling PS game ever) and FF XVI. Sony still won in a year where they had TWO exclusives

To claim that Xbox won 2023 is silly enough. To claim its won multiple years in the past and that it hasnt been close? Absolutely delusional. Come on man

Only one of those is a first party exclusive, and Square Enix is publicly stating their deal with Sony has been detrimental to their brand (and then introduced a new game at XBox's Developer Direct). Hard to view that as a win.

Everything you say could be true, but it still sold at least as many copies at SM2 (likely more) and had far more players. The usage numbers point to the overwhelming majority of gamers enjoying this game and it has been played for more time than SM2 was played. It is also still being played and discussed while no one talks about SM2 at all. The only ones with a "blind spot" are the ones claiming SM2 somehow beat even just Starfield by itself, much less the entire sleight of Xbox first party exclusives in 2023. It didn't even come close.

This part is true. Gaming definitely is not more important than my family and what we have going on.

My favorite part of Starfield was having to wait two months to finish it because a game breaking bug prevented me from finishing a final story mission

There is a clear bias and rose colored glasses.
The realty is this….Xbox 360 was one of the greatest consoles ever. I was sold. I also owned a PS3 and it wasn’t even close to what MS had at that point.
Then the One came out and I sold it back to game stop after a couple of months and got a PS4.
Much like the 360 shat on the PS3. The PS4 decimated the one and MS has yet to recover. Their best shot was series x or whatever weird arse name they called their next gen and they missed the mark. Phil has even stated it was a pivotal loss.
“We lost the worst generation to lose, in the Xbox One generation, when everybody built their digital library of games […] everybody who walks into a retailer to buy a console are already a member of one of three ecosystems. Their digital library is there […] the continuity from generation is so strong”
This is the reality.

The playtime shows users thoroughly enjoy Starfield, to the point that it has been played more than Spiderman 2 and by more people. Lots of reviewers got it totally wrong.

Cuz they were waiting in loading screens lol
Of course I’d put more hours into a game like Skyrim vs spider man. Just an overwhelming amount of content difference.
