Man, I am 100% committed to NOT flying anymore unless for some kind of emergency i can't foresee. Had a trip planned to Orlando with airfare, and nowwwwwwwww i'm gonna be driving after all these absurd changes.
if i can select my pilot or see them before I buy a ticket? fine. but there's a LOT more than just pilots that make this shite so dangerous. the minimal bar is seeing my pilot prior to ticket purchase.

Flying is an adventure these days. Just flew United last Monday Columbus to Houston, flight ok. Connecting flight Houston to Brownsville, delayed 4 times canceled until Wednesday (weather - cold/ice). Wouldn't give me my luggage, ended up renting a vehicle and drove from Houston to Brownsville, bought some clothes at mall.
Return flight Friday Brownsville to Houston piloted by DEI women who droned on and on about how fast she will fly and get us there early. Departed 15 minutes late, arrived gate 20 minutes late. Typical woman always making guys late. Connecting flight, Houston to Columbus air craft has mechanical problem (a window seal is broken) 4 hour repair delay. Find replacement aircraft, board aircraft, one of the gage panels is malfunctioning, wait an hour on the aircraft for tech guy to show and fix it. Arrive home two hours late.
Driving is becoming a more appealing option these days.

WAAaaayyyyy more dangerous to drive to Orlando than fly.
That being said going to an airport is the worst thing I can think of. If I can drive it in 8 hours I ain't flying and if it is more than 8 hours away I probably ain't going. Its not flying, its airports and airlines that have driven me away. I spent about 4 years flying several times a week and it finally just got to be too much misery to contend with. Still enjoy an airport bar though...

So you’d rather get on the interstate next to cars that haven’t had maintenance in 10 years and are being driven by alcoholics and drug users?

Enjoy your long drive next to people that might be on drugs, drunk, mental health issues, too old, etc.
