Yep, this is the exact stupidity that I meant. What you are proposing is that there is a conspiracy of thousands of people to find a vaccine that will kill most people but presumably they will have the antidote. But these thousands of people have hundreds of friends and relatives…each! And those friends and relatives have friends and relatives, and when you finish tracing all of that it’s everyone in the world.

No. You have it all mucked up. They are heavy into vaccines to find the ideal protection against virus x, the planet killer virus.
As far as keeping it quiet, the research is ostensibly for protecting us from emerging viruses. That is the official story. That is what the lab techs and congressmen will think. Even the president.
