Is the helmet for deaf players an unfair advantage?

Obviously there are other factors that hinder deaf players, but if you had an entire team with those helmets, you could run ultra hurry up and not even check with the coach or get signals.
Is the NCAA required to allow these during competition?

You’d think they would be so good at signaling in plays, they wouldn’t need it.

i'm not familiar with those helmets. do they have a buzzer or what?

Basically it is a heads up display.

I was wondering that as well.
It must be for teams that huddle and don't signal?

Unfair to Michigan, makes it harder to steal signals.

Are the non-def teams also going to be able to use the AT&T helmets? Seems like that would be massively helpful considering the sign stealing scandal.

Aren’t you not allowed to send voice communication after a certain time play clock wise?
Also, how dumb is the commercial qb that he didn’t see the entire D-Line shift into the exact play he was running?

I believe the NCAA tested some helmet comms in some bowls and they will
Move to that soon hopefully. Sign stealing should be a thing of the past.

If they do allow the comms, then these helmets would be a necessity.

Deaf players can’t audible to a new play, which is usually a verbal cue…deaf linemen can’t hear the QB. So the HUD for deaf players isn’t really an advantage, it’s an accommodation that levels the playing field. And I’m sure the NCAA would require a report from an audiologist to determine need.

Why isn't they do the "check with me" signals that a majority of teams do now?

nah. michigan will find a way to intercept the signal.

I thought college didn't have radios in the helmet anyways?
