The NCAA has been spanked by a Federal Court every time they try and restrict NIL. Not sure what you really think they can do at this point

That's complete BS
and frankly not sure why the NCAA needs permission to put in rules
everything about college has rules to it
you're providing excuses
what should the restrictions be, just make the make the argument because noone is happy with the NIL

Oh, you guys want regulation now? I mean the Supreme Court declared salary caps unconstitutional.
And don’t get me wrong that sucks, but it’s also pretty consistent and very American — Limits are bad, deregulation is good, and to these ideals the context never matters.
Promising millions to 17 year olds, predatory agents running wild, a general excess of money that could definitely be put to much better use (And I mean the whole fkn entertainment economy, not just NIL) — this is all in line with dominant socioeconomic ideals going back at least 50 years.
This is just the beginning — all economies are consolidating and class war is loading.
You reap what you sew.

This. The NCAA's chance at doing anything ended after the court decision. If the NCAA had done things about stipends or payments 10 years ago, it probably wouldn't have gotten where we are now. Football will not look like the past ever again.

People on here don’t understand the situation. The ncaa isn’t being hands off because they want to be. The federal government is preventing them from doing anything.
Just about every restriction proposed on this board is a non starter that will never happen unless the ncaa launches a years long and incredibly costly legal battle AND wins.
