These are strawman arguments. No one is saying you can't win a championship unless you recruit in the top 5. It's not just about LSU's national title years, it's about the years in between. Lets see what Washington does over 5 years. What did LSU do between titles? It's about being 11+ wins (10 regular season) every year.

The comment I responded to said "require a top 5 recruiting ranking average to win it all like in the past." Which is in fact one person saying that.
If LSU would have had a good QB in '08-'10, LSU could have made it back. Same post Mett.
