Has spent virtually 97% of his entire life in the midwest or PNW. I hate to say stuff like this but feels like it could be a risky culture fit

I like it schematically tho

You say this as if Brian Kelly had any idea that there was land below the Mason Dixon Line before coming to LSU.

Why do guys on message boards feel that professionals can’t work in any location? Recruiting is no longer about what high school coach you know. This is the NIL era.

People overthink this stuff. Saban wasnt a good cultural fit at Alabama, he changed the program.

This applies more to his original move down South to LSU

But Saban is an outlier more than norm

I dunno. He's never been in the South and he doesn't recruit. Would be an odd get.

He and his wife Stephanie would fit right in around these parts.

Grubb is making 2 million a year at Wash…we just turned down matching Denbrock at 2 million. Id be thrilled with the hire but really doubt it

I think Grubbs next job is HC somewhere. He is in the playoffs and has been a couple times. He is highly regarded and probably not worth it to move for another oc position

Maybe the value wasn't there to match offer. LSU has a reputation of paying its assistants handsomely. I doubt the lack of a counteroffer had to do with ability to pay.

I believe he is close to retirement and wants to go home. Kelly probably knew this and wasn't going to offer more than ND which would have been necessary to keep him here.
