CFP bowing down to SEC and Big 10. All 4 teams are, or will be next year SEC or Big 10. All other leagues need not apply.

They got it right. UGA did not win the SEC and Fla. ST. is more lightweight than Wash or UT, but that is a close call and debatable

Snub??? That was a complete fuqin!

Just interesting to watch that the 4/5 slot is the current controversy, it was the 2/3 with BCS, and next year it will be the 12/13.

The problem is people projecting their own feelings on a situation where feelings are irrelevant. We can howl about who deserves what but facts are "deserving" was never part of the process. Just a few weeks ago we were holding out hope LSU would make the playoffs based solely on the fact we were a better team at that point than we were when we lost to FSU or Ole Miss. That same logic applies to both FSU and Bama yet we're contradicting ourselves. FSU isn't the same team that beat us. They barely got by Boston College with a healthy Jordan Travis. Bama isn't the same team that lost to Texas. Jalen Milroe ended the season playing like a Heisman candidate. In essence one team lost a Heisman level qb mid season while the other team added one. Bama deserves to be in even tho I despise them.

Good thing for them is, they don't really have to
The fact they've already duped stupid sports fans into thinking expanding the flawed logic is the best fix is icing on the cake.
Nobody who is inept at their job improves the quality of their output when their responsibility is expanded.

Can't deny Alabama deserves in - can't defend putting in Texas over FSU.

I know it's the wrong thing when all these Gump Humpers like it.

I hate Bama too, but the committee got it right.

Fsu should be in over bama

UGA about to prove the committee right.

The reason they got it wrong IMO is that they claim they wanted the “best teams” but they didn’t get the 4 best teams and everyone knows Washington and possibly Michigan aren’t better than UGA and they played Bama closer than any of them except Texas will. Ohio State would beat Washington too. They did this because Travis wasn’t there. They’d have more of a case if this were a tie breaker situation between Bama and FSU. But one team won every game on schedule, and I don’t think SOS should be factored in there unless they had lost a game.
I did read that injuries have to be taken into consideration in the CFP committee protocol, but, their 2nd string won 2 games, one against their rival, the 3rd string won the conference championship, and the 2nd string is coming back. I have no doubt that FSU would never win the championship with Rodegarden but I just don’t see how you snub a team like that. They never lost.

At LSU, we've seen some incredible defensive units, and what we saw from FSU's defense in the ACC championship game was something special. On that performance alone, FSU deserved a spot. Louisville's entire offense consisted of:
- 50 plays that netted -8 yards total.
- A single coherent drive that led to a FG
- Just five other plays with meaningful positive yardage.
1. Louisville had 69 yards of offense in the 1st half, but 72 yards came on just 5 plays. The other 24 first-half plays netted -3 yards.
2. One of those 5 plays was a meaningless 11 yard run on the last 0:03 of the half, with FSU in prevent defense. Ignoring that meaningless snap, Louisville's offense had just 4 successful plays, and just 3 first downs in the 1st half.
3. Louisville came out of half time and mounted a single decent 12-play, 56 yard drive that led to its first FG. Five of Louisville's 8 pass completions came on that one drive. After that, FSU shut them down even more than they did in the 1st half.
4. Except for the 41yard run that led to the 2nd FG, Louisville's remaining 26 plays of the 2nd half netted -5 yards.

It's absurd that we have had a larger playoff for decades. So fortunately, this is the only year that this can happen, to this degree.
Now sure, next year, some team will be screaming about being 13th, but that's far more tolerable than the 4 or 5 spot.

I hear you, but seriously, frick FSU and their problems. Those dudes were total dicks when we played them.
I understand they ran the ACC, but whatever, big deal. So basically, they're the new Clemson or something.
Meh, frick 'em, I don't see how any of this impacts LSU in any way.

If UGA smokes FSU and Bama wins it all then they’ll be vindicated

The reactions should have zero bearing on which teams get picked

The reason the committee put in the phrase “4 best teams” is so that they could manipulate who the TV partners, advertisers, and other power brokers wanted.
Does the NFL choose the “best teams” to be in the playoffs or the teams that win their way into the playoffs?
Who is best? Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Best is merely an opinion, not necessarily based on logic.
The CFP committee could easily have ended all arguments if when they created the playoffs to simply make it sn 8 team playoff. All power 5 conference champions are in. 3 wild card selections based on a formula that takes in overall record, sos, & head to head matchups.

Georgia will smash them and this will just reinforce their decision. Right or wrong.
