Just noticed that Derrick Henry is second in rushing yards…

How does this man keep doing it?

Is that actually correct?
He has only gone over 100 yards 3 times and is on pace for 1,200 yards. If true good lord running backs in the nfl really are dead

The position is pretty damn dead.

In a 16 game season we are talking about an 1,100 yard rusher having the second most yards? I mean the entire offseason listening to RBs complain about pay is so damn funny
They are almost like a damn long snapper now. The big move will be for guys like CMC and others wanting to create a separate designated position for themselves since they catch so many passes

I still firmly believe that LF > Henry because people around here said so.

Yeah, I think there are only a handful of guys on pace for 1000 yard seasons in 16 games. In 2012, half the league had a 1000 yard running back and that had been pretty much the norm. The past 10 years, there have been a lot of seasons where that number was hit by fewer than 10. Last year there were 16, but I believe 6 of those hit 1000 in game 17.

I recently learned that Mostert is 31. He got a late start in career and is on video game offense. But he is on pace to be in rare air... over 30 with over 1,000 yds. It has only happened less than 50 times in NFL history, so even more rare that it's happening in 2023 RB's-are-dead era.

RB position isn’t dead… teams are just using multiple backs now where in the past there were feature backs.
RBs don’t hold up to being every down any more that’s all it is.

Why would any elite 4*+ recruit play RB these days? Defense pays better and probably has longer careers

More like the feature back is a dead concept. Teams still run the ball, just with a committee approach.
