My wife and bought a loaded Tahoe in 1996 and sold it 4 years ago with 480,000+ miles on it. Only problem we ever had with it was the power steering pump started leaking at about 350K and like a dumby I bought one on Amazon and had to put 3 of those on it before I bought a delco from a NAPA dealer and it worked fine. Chneged the oil regularly for the first 200K and then not so regularly after that. That truck as abused also. I drug a 24 foot enclosed decoy trailer across so many muddy fields I couldn't begin to count them. I drug a 20 foot duck boat across the desert so many times and had to drive the truck and trailer into the river to launch that I can't begin to recall. I also used it to surf fish North Carolina several times a year, loaded with gear and in sand that would swallow a diesel pickup. That thing was by far the best vehicle I ever owned. It looked like hell when we sold it, leather was in BAD shape, the carpets were done, everything about it was finished but the drivetrain was still as solid at nearly 500K as it was day one. I will almost guarantee anyone interested than no Toyota ever built has been abused and has had less maintenance done on it than that Tahoe had and lasted 500K miles.
