I'm in the market for a Yukon/Yukon XL, the new Suburban front ends aren't really my style though, for the price difference, it may be worth looking at.

My wife and bought a loaded Tahoe in 1996 and sold it 4 years ago with 480,000+ miles on it. Only problem we ever had with it was the power steering pump started leaking at about 350K and like a dumby I bought one on Amazon and had to put 3 of those on it before I bought a delco from a NAPA dealer and it worked fine. Chneged the oil regularly for the first 200K and then not so regularly after that. That truck as abused also. I drug a 24 foot enclosed decoy trailer across so many muddy fields I couldn't begin to count them. I drug a 20 foot duck boat across the desert so many times and had to drive the truck and trailer into the river to launch that I can't begin to recall. I also used it to surf fish North Carolina several times a year, loaded with gear and in sand that would swallow a diesel pickup. That thing was by far the best vehicle I ever owned. It looked like hell when we sold it, leather was in BAD shape, the carpets were done, everything about it was finished but the drivetrain was still as solid at nearly 500K as it was day one. I will almost guarantee anyone interested than no Toyota ever built has been abused and has had less maintenance done on it than that Tahoe had and lasted 500K miles.

GM has apologized to shareholders and is recommiting to ICE.

I have no clue how people can pay these type of price tags on new vehicles

Or, some of us choose to invest our money, max out our 401K every year, etc. That makes better sense than throwing funds into a depreciable property.
This is the OT though, so your response makes sense.

Just wait until you hit 75K miles, it will fall apart and your 4 Runner will keep running like the machine it is. We had both Tahoe and Yukon, absolute disasters after 75K. We bought a 4Runner after that and it's on 180K and we've only had to change tires, brakes and batteries.
Currently there are 47 GM full size SUVs advertised for sell on multiple sites with more than 300K miles on them. 9 of them have greater than 400K with the highest one being 464K. Year models from the mid 90's through the mid teens.
There are 29 4 Runners and Sequoias on those sights with more than 300K on them, the highest is 389K. Year models similar to the GMs.
The old meme about Toyotas lasting infinitely longer than GM products is only supported by anecdotal evidence that may or many be remotely true. The actual data suggests that GM trucks are highly reliable coompared to any on the road and I will guarantee you that if you buy a late model used GM you will save thousands if not tens of thousands over a comparable Toyota with similar mileage. If you going to buy new Toyota is the better choice because of resell value based on brand loyalty and no other data suggesting they are any more reliable. If you have any sense and allow someone else to lose the money associated with buying new a late model low mileage GM is a far better value than a comparable Toyota.

Understand your point, but the choice is not always binary. Some people can actually do both.

We can get you down to $1,265.00 a month with a trade in.

I get that. Everything is a choice. I choose not to do so.

While that's nice and all, my 2011 has 120K on it. Garage kept and excellent shape. I do all the maintenance myself so I know its done right. And when the time comes, I'll just drop a new engine in it and save tens of thousands.

Or maybe some of us do both.

Interesting thing is, it's never had an issue. Maintenance goes a long way. Try harder.

Toyota ain’t what it used to be. They have cut corners in recent years and try to get more people into their Lexus product
My friend has a 21 Rav 4 and it’s the biggest POs he’s ever had. About to get rid of it.

My son a forestry major at Miss State loves his 07 4x4 suburban and yes he uses it in the woods all the time.

This new generation of Tahoes/Yukons just seems to be really squeezed in with a narrow base with really tall height.
I don't know if it's an optical illusion or an actual choice. I will say the 4X4 versions look better on the road and you notice this less with them.

The soyota drivers will need to book an extra therapy session this week if y’all keep bullying them
