The past 2 decades has shown us that you can have a break out star with undeniable talent on nit the best team and win it.

Just rewatching that 85 yard touchdown is a thing you only see Heisman worth players do. They are the ones who make spectacular plays that wow the mind. I just remember the circus catches Desmond Howard used to make or the way Rocket Ishmael returned punts, etc. Nobody else has been as special as Jayden this season.

It’s only brought up to argue against a player not on a great team.

John David Booty was once in the Heisman race. It has nearly always been the QB from the presumed #1 team. Nothing new here

Do you remember in 2021 nakobe dean won the butkus over damone clark in 2021? Turned out Lsu had a 6-6 year while uga won the natty.
solo tackles ... clark 78 dean 36
total tackes … clark 135 dean 72
TFL ……………….clark 15.5 dean 10.5
sacks …………… clark 5.5. dean 6.0

A lot of it is exposure.
If you're on a bad team, you normally don't get continuous media exposure, so people don't see you. But if you're on a great team and you're the reason they are excelling, you get a lot of love.
Maybe the worst example was Mark Ingram. He was ok, but not spectacular by any stretch... but dammit it has to be SOMEBODY on that Bama team. They're just SO good, we have to give it to one of them. And he's the only guy with decent stats.
But I don't think that's an issue this year; Daniels is getting a lot of exposure, and it's peaking at the right time.

However, it often ends up being given to the best player on the best team.
Do you all even look this stuff up before you post? 7 0f last 10 did not go to the "best player on the best team" including last season winner Caleb Williams.
Only 3 that would fit that description were Burrow, D Smith, and D. Henry.
