Family Thanksgiving is on Friday for us this year.
4 of us are talking about doing lunch somewhere in Baton Rouge.
Something nicer/nice casual works.

Not even sure how to look this up since everybody's online hours will just say “Thanksgiving might effect these hours.”

Any guidance/tips/suggestions are appreciated.

Downvote all you want, but we did Cracker Barrel the year my father died, and it was a delicious homestyle meal. It was much better than their regular menu.

Agreed. Wife ordered a chocolate martini (used to be their signature drink) and had to return it bc whatever the hell they served her didn’t even remotely resemble a chocolate martini. The manager got involved and had no clue what a chocolate martini was supposed to look/taste like either. Unbelievable.

Knockout martini is their signature drink, not a chocolate martini.

Got my reservations for Sullivan's Thursday. Went last year. Was great. The Thanksgiving menu was $50. Very good. Turkey was excellent, had a very nice butter basted taste to it. The sides were good as well. Could still order off the regular menu so I ordered some Beef Wellington bites off the apps. Damn good. It's hard to find Beef Wellington in a restaurant.

Service was great, thank you Patterson. Her service was as good as her looks. ;-)

If I remember correctly, Little Village was open as well.

It was nice. Folks are in 80's. Didn't have to worry about cleaning up, cooking, or any of that stuff.

The family and I went recently, my steak was literally rancid. I thought it smelled a funny before I bit into it, but put that off on sinuses. Cutting into the center of the steak exposed that dull grey color associated with meat being spoiled.

The waitress was friendly, but once she took our food orders she disappeared to the back. She may have had one other table, so she was not slammed with customers. After a few minutes I finally had to flag down the hostess to inform her of the issue.

The waitress came out, apologized profusely, and took my food back. What she did not do was notice that most of our drinks were empty (at a place like Sullivan's, this should not happen). The manager came by to apoloize and reassure us, he had mannerisms (quirky movements/posture) that reminded me of someone on meth. He also did not seem to understand the point of asking about refills, so I had to point out my empty drink to him.

The waitress brought out the new steak and had me check it, then once again disappeared into the back until she came out to check on desserts.

The new steak was fine (as was the meal of everyone else in my party) and they comp'd my meal, but the level of service you expect at a restaurant of that level was not all there.

I worked there in its prime. Even back then corporate was talking about renovating the inside (while all other Sullivans around the same age had been renovated) but bc of lease issues with the owner of the entire strip mall, the place has never had a major renovation and it desperately shows now.

It’s to the point I don’t care to make a trip there.
