If Netflix doesn't give this a Game of Thrones budget for a live action show, they are crazy. Best thing I've watched in a long time.

If you had one to pick for a newbie, which series would it be?

Don't know if this would work as live action.

Great recommendation! Just finished it. Quality show, the style, story, the animation, everything. If anyone is on the fence about this, take the plunge. Really well done series. Can’t wait for the story to continue.

The animation is gorgeous. I'm watching now and will refrain from posting anything until I finish the series tonight or tomorrow

More animated dongs than I expected. But still great!

Probably not, if Quintin Tarantino is retiring.

So the samurai is a woman taping her breasts down and pretending to be a man?

Not sure on spoilers, but yeah, for self-preservation. Feudal Japan being what it is and all.

If this is the best anime has to offer, count me out. I have no idea what drives the obsession with it. It’s okay at best

Finished this today.
It was excellent.
If Fowler says Skeffington and Routley were worse than him, yikes.

It's definitely not. I thought it was fine. It was also American-made, which makes me hesitant to call it real anime.

Technically it’s not anime. It’s an American & French collab, not Japanese.

There's not a single doubt in my mind that at some point, this will be made into a live action adaptation.
Its really really good.

Just finished episode 5 where it explores her past and marriage. Poor thing. She was actually happy for once. Thought the husband actually loved her at one point.

Spoilers..
Late to the party but I thought that was maybe the best episode of the season. The back-and-forth between her present, her past, and the play about the Onryo was really well done.
It really did a good job of portraying how she came to be the “monster” that she is. By the end of the flashback it didn’t even matter who sold her out, she was done with both of them.
I see Netflix has already renewed the show for a second season.

I was expecting this but hadn't kept up with the news. This and Arcane are high on my list.
