If I have to walk long distances some nice matte black tennis shoes will work for me. I like my feet I don’t want to blister them just so I can say I wore dress shoes to your shindig.

Sounds like you need to invest in some real dress shoes then. I have several pairs of Allen Edmonds and can walk miles in each and everyone of them. Have never gotten a blister in a nice dress shoe

Unless you wear the same outfit every day, consisting of utterly plain shirt, pants, and shoes, you care what people think about your outfit.

Also, we make fun of peoples' trucks, hats, etc.. here all the time, there are no reasons why clothes should be sacred. You want to act like a tool, the OT will inform you of your transgressions.

I am going to wedding not wearing coat it is hot

Costs are for if you are cold

Coats are not for if it is cold. Coats are to wear over your shirt which can be useful for hiding pit stains, holding a flask, etc...

There are warm weather coats made of things like linen, poplin, seersucker, etc... You can get them cheap at TJ maxx. If the wedding invite says "coat and tie" you should wear one.

Pair those with a pee-wee herman fitting jacket and pants and you are in.

I've seen the way some of you boomers dress in real life and ya'll have no room to complain. Fishing shirts, white New Balance shoes, square toes, I could go on. I like the look. Maybe step your fashion game up and stop sky screaming about what other men wear.

Tend to agree with this... I'm mid 40's. Do I like the look? Not really, it comes off as juvenile....but wearing a suit in today's world is better than 90% of whats out there, so if they want to wear tennis shoes with it...whatever.

I actually think we should care more especially in a professional setting. People used to dress nice in all public settings. Our society looks like trash these days and have lost all sense of pride in looking decent. You don’t have to always wear suit and tie, but at least know how to match certain clothes, shoes, etc where it looks good and try to look like someone who has respect and dignity for themselves

About the only time I wear dress shoes is for funerals and customer visits. I wear my Wolfs to regular all the time.

I heard there’s a brain damaged senator in DC that wears an old dirty hoody to work every day.

If you are 22 ...ehh I don't like it but young folks are young. If you are 32 ... Then realize you aren't 22
