I've listened to it twice today, and this is one hell of an album. There's a decent bit of Beatles and Curtis Mayfield influences throughout this one, and it works. 2 songs are forgettable to me, but the rest are top notch. This is a band that has the potential to explode

Two great albums back to back. They are fun in concert too.

Have a girl in Texas that just bought us two tickets to see them in Austin in December. Never heard of them before she mentioned them this week.

Gonna dig in.

Black Pumas are great. Their debut was throwback soul and this new one is an evolution without losing what made the first album good.

Between BP and The Gaslight Anthem, a lot of good music dropping today. Christmas in October.

I Like that. I wish there was a bit less distortion on the guitar parts though, so it could be more melodic and have some harmony vocals. The groove of it is killer.
Somebody above mentioned Curtis Mayfield, and I would like it better if it leaned slightly more to that sound.
Bad arse drummer. Love the snare stuff
It's all outside and nobody has a phone in their hand, saying something about freedom.

What is that guitar the boggan dude is playing? It looks like a Mustang with p90s and painted headstock. I like the color.

Very fun. They put on a good show and sounded great.

And you know they're the reason that country singer covered Fast Car. Black Pumas do a crazy good cover of it and it gets some recognition and that dude does the most bland cover ever right after and it blows up. Smh.

Man I’d like to thank this thread. Just checked them out on Spotify. Not normally my genre of music but this band is great.

This song is so much fun. If this doesn't propel them to the next level of fandom then I don't know what will.

Angel so far is my favorite. It has so many elements of George Harrison in it that I could hear that guitar and think it's a lost Beatles song.

Sauvignon is another that I am a big fan of. Such a groovy Curtis vibe to it. Great stuff!
