quote:what in the actual frick? Just ignore it. This poll is a measure of fan enthusiasm and it actually amounts to one real vote for JD5. Why in hell would we not want to beat Fsu in this thing? If none of that makes sense to you then at the very least don’t hurt the cause by counteracting the LSU votes for JD5!
Each time this ridiculous shite pops up I’m going vote for FSU guy.

Maybe to you. Opinions vary and based on the pages of this thread, the consensus is there's a meaning to it for a lot of fans. You don't have to vote if you don't want to, correct? Then don't.

How do we see the chart comparison of votes? I don't see it on the voting page.
Posted on 11/1/23 at 7:19 am to MBTiger
I now see after voting that the percentage shows up under the players name.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Slowly chipping away. I'm still baffled as to how Travis got such a lead.

Ask Brian Kelly. He had like 8 months to prepare. Twice.

Something doesn't seem right with these percentages. Essentially only 2 people getting votes? Nobody from Texas or NC is voting for their guy at 0%? Travis has an almost insurmountable lead on day 1? Smells funny to me...

I didn’t realize that, but it’s true.
quote:
The states are divided into the six sections accordingly:
Far West, Mid Atlantic, Mid West, North East, South, Southwest
Each Section within the United States has 145 media votes, totaling 870 media votes across the country. Additionally every former Heisman winner, 57 presently, has a vote as well. In 1999, The Heisman Trophy agreed to develop a special program to allow the public at large to become part of the balloting process by permitting one (1) fan vote eligible in the overall tabulation. This program once again continues this year through a partnership with Nissan North America, bringing the total number of voters for the 2023 Heisman race to 929.

This poll is a measure of fan enthusiasm and it actually amounts to one real vote for JD5.
As a penance, I will vote with my brethren from this day forward.

SIAP but if you have multiple browsers you can cast additional votes. Geaux JD!

Ah man, a lot of votes started coming in today. Back down to 31% vs 49%

But how much does the fan vote actually matter?
It will count as 1 out of 929 total votes for the Heisman

quote:something fishy’s going on. We were very gradually climbing the ladder ever since last week while Fsu guy was falling. Our progress was very slow but steady. But today In one minute we are back down to 31 and the Fsu guy has jumped back up a few notches. I don’t any longer trust that site. Not sure first of all how the Fsu guy got such a HUGE nearly insurmountable lead to begin with without some AI or Bot thing happening. We were chipping away and suddenly we’re jerked back down. Whatever weird thing that started that bogus number for Jordan, may be back at play.

quote:agreed. Wile I understand it’s not scientific by any means, it should make some sense. I know that fans/users of this site are so rabid and numerous that we tend to skew things often but even considering that we just can’t seem to get over the hump. I was ok with the gradual progress we were making but to have a sudden knock down like today gives me pause.
Something doesn't seem right with these percentages.

You’d think that even if FSU fans were collectively voting en masse like we are, then there would still be a more gradual ebb and flow of the percentages in one direction or another
Huge percentage point jumps in a matter of minutes is super sketchy
