Looking forward to watching the documentary later. I was in high school when Cecil was at LSU. My high school regularly played Leesville and everybody was in awe of the dude. Those huge games he had at LSU will be etched in my mind forever.

How can there be a documentary? He only played like three games?

I was at the games back then. I remember the hype. I remember the questions about how we would handle all the talent at RB. It was about the best backfield I ever saw.
Cecil was a powerful bowling ball with good speed. Fault was quick and great out the backfield.
Mealy was good all around.
I had heard the off field stories about Cecil from high school. Not good. Very cocky. Never cared about school work. Classic immature entitled superstar player.
He carried that behavior to LSU and the stories were far and wide.
When he got into trouble, it was not surprising based on what I had heard about him. I didn’t feel sorry for him at all.
After watching this documentary, I am blown away at the development. Jail actually did him some good. It’s a real shame that it had to come to that though.
Dinardo knew what he was doing. He tried to keep the ego under control. Others should have done this same but didn’t. He needed discipline but got pats on the back.
Selfishly, i wish he could have had that 13 years in the NFL but only if he was grounded. I’m glad he never got to the point of doing irreversible damage to someone.
Great story

Enjoyed it. I’m the type that likes to watch tv/videos with closed captioning. I had a hell of a time trying to figure out what was said for most of the documentary.

Great redemption story. Happy to see how he turned his life around!

Great job by Doucet and the crew

Cecil has to be the most hyped athlete who produced least of any football player in college sports.
QB JJ had more production.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I owe that man an apology. Up to seeing that video, I considered him a thug and a punk, but the man he has become is inspiration to me. Makes me realize that you don't judge a book by it's cover, but you need to take the time and effort to read or see the entire story!
Congratulations Cecil! You've become a greater star than LSU or the NFL could have ever made you! God Bless You Brother! Geaux Tigers!

It’s crazy he was actually better than KF for that short time. Classic case of what might have been. What a great and inspiring story though.

Of course the most electric running back I've ever seen play has become an electrician.

Ehh the dude broke into a woman’s house that went to his gym. He’s only sorry because he did like 15 years for it.
Meanwhile, George Floyd only did 5 for an aggravated crime. Don’t think he ever learned his lesson.

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
The man committed a crime and served his sentence. He has found redemption.
Those that still judge him harshly for his mistakes in life. May the almighty God be just as harshly judging towards you on your day of judgement. If you can't be forgiving, why should you expect it in return.

Just watched this.
Great piece.
I am glad he is doing well, but it is sad to think of what might have been.
I was at that Auburn game in 1997. I thought I was watching someone who would become the greatest running back in LSU history. Every time he would make a big play. people would raise their arms up and down as though pulling the horn on a diesel truck, and the one who was leading that effort on the sidelines was Kevin Faulk. I remember that game very well, but the thing I forgot was that we lost it.

I was finally able to view it. The story, the practice footage, the game footage, and the interviews with his peers was absolutely riveting.
I remember as a teenager watching the State and Auburn games. The footage brought back all the exhilaration.
I like the fact that it was done by a local Louisiana news station, rather than having it on a 30 for 30. The fact that it was raw and less polished made it more intriguing. It was well done.
I don't judge Mr. Collins one bit. He payed his debt to society, and he rehabilitated himself with the help of his wife. Great story.

Great documentary and I’m really glad he’s gotten his life together and seems to be at peace with how his life has worked out.
I wish the best for he and his family.

I saw him play against ASH in 94 or 95 and he was unstoppable. Nobody had seen anyone like him before. It was literally like watching a man amongst boys.
I’m glad he was able to dig himself out of that dark place.
Good luck Cecil !!
